Me, husband, son almost 3, daughter 18 months (at time of travel) are staying at Port Orleans Riverside Tue. Nov. 30 - Sat, Dec. 4 with free dining.
Husband now wants to arrive Monday Nov 29 in the evening. Animal Kingdom will be our first park (Tuesday). A couple questions about this:

1. Should we stay at an All Star Resort or Pop Century Monday night?

2. Park opens at 9am. We want to be there at opening. What time should we check in at PO Riverside?

3. If we check in later in the day is there a way to get our tickets on Monday? Not sure how that would work since aren't the tickets on our room key card at Riverside?

Thanks!

I would stay at the resort that seems to appeal to you most. For a single night stay, I wouldn't sweat it.

I think you do need to check in at POR first thing in the morning. They most likely won't have your room ready, but will issue cards to you with a phone number to call and get your room number later. You can just stow your luggage with the bell captain.

Then you can be on your way to the parks.

You can check in early and get you tickets but your room may not be ready, we checked in at 7:15am. Don't think you can get your tickets a day early though, they don't release them until the lead guest has checked in. i know that because my daughters flight arrived 2 hours after I did and had to wait to get my ticket since she was the lead guest.

Will you have a car? Either POP or All-Stars will work if you have a car or are willing to pay for a taxi. Otherwise spend the extra few dollars and get a room only reservation at POR Monday night.

The reservation will be under my name at Riverside. While husband gets kids up and breakfast can I drive over to Riverside to check us in and get our tickets or do all of us have to be there at check in?

Just the main guest needs to be there to register, it would even be faster if you do online registration so when you get there check in is faster.

i would stay at pop, it is a much quieter place for young children. Also the bus service is much much better than at all star, ask for the 50's section it is closer to the busses and a fun pool.

This is what I would do as well. In fact, you might even be able to extend your package to cover that extra night---giving you an extra set of dining credits to use on a Signature if you like. It would be well worth not having to drive all over creation to try to make rope drop the next day.
