Mission: Enjoying trip to WDW!
Traveling party : Two adults, one three year old princess: turning four while on this trip, and an adorable princess: 6 month old baby.
Reservations: All Star Music for 6 nights

Soooooo, did some more reading and was curious for thoughts on CBR instead. I know there is construction there now. Not really planning on swimming that much anyway as it will be early April when we go.

I keep hearing about the resort being very spread out. Walking doesn't scare me :confused3 so I'm not afraid of that aspect. (6 month old will be in a sling anyway, and the other can always ride in a stroller or piggy back if needed.)

I see that the ASMusic rooms are 260 sq feet as opposed to 340 for CBR. I stayed in ASMovies back in 2002 pre kids and it was fine, but I wasn't thinking, "now what would happen if I had two additional bodies in this room?":crowded:

HELP!!!!

I've never been to CBR but have stayed at the other moderates. I think if you don't mind the extra cost, you will appreciate the space, and the fridge. We've stayed at All Star Sports and found it okay, we were three (me, dd18 and ds12). Space wasn't a huge issue, after all we were at Disney, but there was somewhat less storage for clothes.

Also the fridge that you rent for $10/day is one of those little cube fridges about 18" square. Not worth $10/day IMO. With a 6 month old baby you need to keep milk in the room, and you probably need to keep breakfast stuff for the rest of you. I know how hard it can be getting everyone up and ready when the kids are small. The fridge at the moderates is one of those bar sized under the counter types, much more useful. Have a great time whatever you choose.

CBR is a beautiful resort. Many people don't find the walking bad at all at CBR. You might want to take a look at the CBR FAQ thread. Link is below.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread for the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Just an FYI:

The values have elevators.

CBR does not have elevators. We got very tried of carrying the stroller up and down the stairs when we stayed at CBR when our children were little.

Mod vs. Mod

'CBR is 340 square feet and the other mods are 314.

They are basically laid out the same but CSR only has 1 sink (the other have 2 sinks.)
CSR does not have a luggage seat.

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.)

POFQ and POR are concidered sister resorts so they share pools.

When staying at one of these resorts you can use the other resort's pool.
You can also refill your refillable mug at either of the food courts.

Some of the rooms at POR in the AB section have a trundle bed and can sleep 5.

---------------------------------------------------------
Transportation.

CBR has 7 bus stops.
CSR has 4 bus stops.
PO has 5 stops. 1st stop POFQ then 4 stops at POR.
POFQ & POR do have a boat to DTD.

----------------------------------------------------------
Elevators

CBR does not have elevators

CSR has elevators

POFQ has elevators

POR the AB section does not have elevators
POR the Mansions does have elevators

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

Thanks. I'm limited to CBR or ASMusic I think for the dates we want so that is the only two choices. Cost difference in the packages is about $500.

It really all depends on what you and your family can do. $500.00 could pay for your meals. Do you mind carrying your strollers up and down the stairs IF you get a second floor room? Do you mind walking if you room is far out because CBR is a huge resort. Lots of questions only you can answer. You can rent a fridge for less than $500.

I've been to both and would pick CBR hands down. We just didn't like ASMu and probably wouldn't like any of the other values either. Maybe it was because we got stuck in the Broadway section and it was a long walk to the food court and the buses. It just felt too crowded and crazy, and we aren't into those big icon things. They just aren't fun for us. Maybe it's because we stayed at CBR the first time we ever went to Disney and got spoiled.

We love CBR because of the island theme, the peace and quiet, the bigger room, the beach with the hammocks, and we found that even the food court was nicer.
