All Star Music Suites

My sisters & I are tossing around the idea of going down to WDW at the end of June and stay at the All Star Music Suites. There would be 3 adults & 3 kids.

Tell me all about the suites. Are all of the beds comfy? Are the suites nice? Where are they located? How many suites do they have? How far are they from the main pool? Is there enough room for people to get around? Is it worth doing the suite or should we just get 2 rooms? Can I get a AAA discount?

First of all, if you're talking about June 2008, it's probably too late There are only a few of the suites and since it's a new concept to the huge Values audience, they go extremely fast! There are suites now in the ASMo and when I researched them I declined based on the following: we don't use the kitchen at all during our stay; and I wanted everyone to sleep in a bed, not a fold out. No matter how comfy people say they might be, our DS-20 and DD-18 are not in the mood to have a week of semi-comfortable sleeping. That said, it was a bit cheaper per day to buy connecting rooms for our needs. We all have a bed and only 2 to a bathroom. Paradise I'm surprising them with this arrangement and can't wait to see their faces come June
I know there have been very specific threads on this board relating to the family suites. Do a search and you should find everything, even the floor plans. But reserve EARLY.

I have never read before that that AS Movies has Family Suites. As far as I know they are only located at All Star Music.

The Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz buildings which are the nearest buildings to the main pool, food court and bus stop.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

Just checked on this for another poster. Two value rooms are cheaper than the suite. You won't have the microwave or fridge, but you could rent the fridge if you really needed one.

Just an FYI


For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.
