My sister is coming for a visit and we are doing a limited budget unplanned quick trip to WDW in November. I managed to book a room at All Star Music for a reallly good resident rate. I would like to put in a request for a specific building... does anyone have any input? (Calypso is out since it's more money per night.)

Does anyone know the interior colors of the Rock Inn or Country Fair? I looked at Deb Wills' site and there are interior pics of the Broadway and Jazz... I liked the blue/teal of the Broadway but didn't like the Jazz interior too much.

How about exterior theming? Which is cutest and most Disneyesque? The Rock Inn looks cute and the Country Fair, although this might be a long walk. We are used to POR, though, so maybe we wouldn't think so?

Anyone have any additional photos of ASM or know of another site that might have some?

Thanks! :)

I don't have any picture info for you, but I was under the impression that the interiors of the rooms were all alike....don't know where I got that idea and I could very well be wrong. We stayed in Jazz last year and loved the location. It was in between both pools and not a far walk to everything. I don't think any of the buildings look any more Disneyish than others, if you mean Disney characters & such.

The interiors of all the ASMu buildings are the same except they have a different wallpaper border and a different picture on the wall. I have stayed at Jazz Inn, Calypso, Broadway and Rock Inn and they have all been the same. The outside icons are different with IMHO, Calypso and Country Fair having the cutest icons. Country Fair, Rock Inn and Broadway are the buildings with the longest walks from the main building especially Country Fair, but really none of the buildings are more than a 5-7 minute walk from Melody Hall which houses the food court, gift shop, front desk, etc.

Thanks for the info JennyMouse and DeeP :)

DeeP, do you remember what color the borders were in Country Fair and Rock Inn? Just wondering. :)

Thanks again!

Planning on bringing a couple gallons of paint and painting the room when you get there to match the borders? LOL:D

No thanks, doing that at home right now (grin). Actually, it sounds dumb, but I am just sensitive to color. All other things being equal, I might choose a room based on the interior. I wouldn't obsess over it, but it makes it just a little more fun. :)

Unless you're super physically fit, avoid Country Fair like the plague. That's a real HIKE to the buses. I'll never do that again.

Well, my DS8 and DD4 are usually pretty tired after a long day at the parks. I am starting to think the extra money for Calypso might be worth it since DH isn't going this trip!

the distance from the lobby to the back of this resort is no more than 600 yards or 4 or 5 minutes to pay 10 or 15 dollars a nite for a couple minutes after holding up for a 10 to 12 mile walk at the park seems like a waste of money

Dalt01, I can see your point, especially since I am being very budget-conscious on this trip. I admit I walk a lot, but we usually rent a stroller at the parks for the kids -- money well spent IMHO since both DS8 and DD4 ride much of the day. By the time we get on the bus and sit down and everyone relaxes, it's hard to get going again when you get back to the resort. DS is tired and DD is often asleep. Carrying her 600 yards doesn't sound like a treat! Plus we will undoubtedly be eating at the food court most of the time, so the convenience of being able to get there easily helps. The difference is $37 for the entire trip. It might be worth it in this case.
