We're thinking of a fall trip and have never been to All Star Music yet. We've tried various resorts and thought ASMu might be fun for me, DW, DS 15, DD 12. We usually don't spend a whole lot of time at the resort. I haven't seen a lot of ASMu threads. Any opinions?

I had 3 very minor complaints with All Star Music (or the All Star resorts in general)

1. Unless you're in a preferred building, be prepared to walk a lot for everything.
2. Since buses are shared between the All Star resorts, expect them to be packed all the time.
3. The room's air conditioners have motion sensors to keep them from running when nobody is in the room. This caused us to return to a hot room after spending the day in the parks.

In my opinion, the All Stars are "You get what you pay for" resort. IMHO, I'd spend a little extra per night and stay at a moderate resort.

IMO ASMusic has the best food court of all the Allstar resorts.
However, as the previous poster stated: it is a long walk to the main building from everywhere at this resort.
I have found that staying at ASmovies, Mighty Duck buildings, and walking over to ASMusic is the best combination for staying at the ASresorts. I have done this three times and will do it again in the future (that is if I cannot get a room at POP which is my favourite value resort).

:cool1:

I was pleasantly surprised with ASMu. I wasn't crazy about staying here, but I couldn't get an AAA rate for ASMo and we'd already stayed at Sports and Pop. It is serves its purpose for being a nice, clean, cheap place to stay on-site. As for being spread out, it isn't any more so than the rest of the value resorts. People walk all over the parks all day, so I really don't see a problem walking around the resort a little. I also thought that the theme was a little more grown up than the other All Stars which would be good for your family since your kids are a little older. As for the bus situation, my understanding is that sometimes the All Stars share buses with each other, sometimes they don't.

Although it's been a while since i've been there, it's always been a favorite. If you're planning to stay there, request Jazz since it's just beyond the preferred buildings. Broadway is also nice - great themeing and close to the quiet pool.

HTH!!!! :teeth:

Hey Barb, we're on the same schedule again!!!
Anyway...we stayed in Jazz bldg and it was wonderful. We were on the third floor, on the backside, towards Movies. Very quiet and I think it took all of 4 minutes to walk to the food court/bus stop.
We only shared the bus with Sports when we went. One time we did stop at Movies but it was a mid-day run and the bus didn't have too many on it. I found the buses at Music to be quite good, and I was there during PopWarner week!!!
Dd and I love this resort and will stay there again.

Stayed there a couple of years ago and vowed never again.

Complaints to housekeeping, guest services, managers and emails to WDW guest services after we got home were not handled properly (all were rather a little too uncaring of a potentially dangerous situation).

We just got back from ASMu three weeks ago - all 21 of us. We stayed in the Broadway section. There were no real long lines for busses and the food court was great. Our room area was quiet and the walk to the front didn't seem overly long to us. Housekeeping was great and we had 10 rooms reserved. Each room got towel animals and I know that 4 of the boys rooms were usually a mess every day. It wouldn't bother me to stay there again.
