All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Just subscribing....

We're planning our trip for November/Thanksgiving, and I can't decide where to stay. It's probably between ASMo and ASMu.....we've stayed at ASMo and Pop before.

I just read through most of this thread, and now I'm totally psyched to be back @ ASMu in August (our lsat trip to ASMu was in '98!!)

THis time we are bringing and extra person so we'll be an a family suite (which I'm REALLY looking forward to)

We've never stayed in a family suite before so I was wondering if anyone had any pics, or knew where to find them?

I have some photos in my review link and a couple of other links I will post below.

Here is a little info.....If you have any other questions feel free to post them or PM me.

The Family Suites at All Star Music will sleep up to 6 persons.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms
-Cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL
------------------------------------------------------------

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Hi all,

Just a quick question...I may have missed this answer so I apologize in advance. Just booked a quick two night stay in Sept at ASMu...DH and I sometimes wind down with a drink at the bar at the end of the night, but from what I can tell the All Stars do not have a bar...is this correct?

Thanks!

Ty

I was there earlier this month and LOVED my stay! I cannot say a bad word about any part of my vacation.

There was a bar, out by the pool that extended into the food court. Good, strong drinks and very friendly waitstaff.

Hey Ty!

There is a little poolside bar at All Star Music that has cocktails. I'm not sure of the hours, but they definitely have alochol! :)

Have fun-we loved ASmu!!

I just got back from ASMu. We were in Jazz facing away from the pool. My room did have a door that connected to next room so there are definitely connecting rooms. It was nice and quiet, even with all the cheerleaders.

Buses were quick and not too crowded except for at park closings. There was only one time that the bus was shared between another resort, which was strange because it was at park closing and only with Sports.

The movies and activities are still going on at the guitar pool nightly. We watched Finding Nemo at the pool after AK one night.

GinnieCricket-

What room number were you,I am going to need connecting rooms. Also, what was your view if you weren't facing the pool? The parking lot?
Thanks so much!

We may just have to buy something early without ice and refresh it later if they close early  Glad to hear you loved the ASmu...I know it's only for two nights, but I keep going back and forth between ASmu and Pop. DH wants me to just leave it and stay at ASmu.

Any suggestions on what to request - we just have a regular standard room booked. I was thinking Rock or Jazz....

In Calypso (we have preferred), if you don't face the pool then what is your view? I know the buildings are shaped like a T with the top of the T facing the pool, right?
I don't nec. want to look over the pool but don't want the parking lot either. Any suggestions???
Also, anyone know if there are any huge groups staying there in April and when?
Thanks! I am so excited to be going there!

Definitely try to get in the Jazz building if possible, or pay for the Calypso, both are very convenient to everything there.

I was so apprehensive about my stay at ASMu but there was nothing at all I would've or could've complained about during my vacation. Beds were firm et comfortable, noise level was NIL! And there was an absolutely CRAZY, loud superbowl party in my building. It was so rowdy when I went outside I was surprised they weren't "shutdown". Once in my room though I could hear none of it! Never once did I hear my neighbors either. No toilets or crying children, ever.

Got towel animals a few times. Got extra towels w/in 30m of requesting them at 9pm. Room always cleaned thouroughly every day. Room was equiped w/ an iron, ironing board and hair dryer.

I was overall very pleased with my trip.

Has anyone ever had an issue with parking at ASMU? We stayed at Pop last year and had a horrible time every night trying to find a parking place close to our room.:headache: We have stayed at ASMO and ASSP in the past and it wasn't that bad. We'll be staying at ASMU on our next trip and were wondering what the parking situation was there. What standard buildings would be good to request that have ample parking?

We were at ASMu in January and had absolutely no trouble parking. We were in the Jazz building and literally were steps away from our car & absolutely loved it. Hated the parking @ POP - sometimes when we got back at night we couldn't park anywhere near our room.

Thanks for the info-we'll request Jazz. We had the same experience at Pop- we would drive around and around looking for a parking space, then end up having to park 2-3 buildings down and then we would have to carry the sleeping kids all the way back to the room. We're excited about AllStar Music. I think it's great that they have the little extras like the movies by the pool and the games for the kids and all.

We are staying at ASM for the first time in August for 9 days :cool1: . After reading this thread, I think my 7 year old granddaughter is going to have a blast; especially if they continue with the outside activities. I do wonder why they didn't put the privacy curtains in all the rooms since they were all remodeled. :confused3

Hey tinawv, your grand daughter will have the time of her life. I took my daughter for the first time last summer and stayed at asmu and our memories from that trip will last both of us a lifetime...she still brags to her friends about what a great time we had and she is even more excited about going back. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip.

We will be there in just 43 days! and dd and i already have plans to sit by the pool amd have a nice cool drink while the kids & dada and pawpaw sleep! :cool1: :cool1: don't drink often so this will be a treat!

Hi all - found one more question. Called yesterday to add "Jazz" as a request. The CM told me I could not as it was a preferred building. I thought just the Calypso buildings were...which is correct. :confused3

Thanks!

Ty
