Last year I was quite happy staying at Port Orlean French Quarters. However this year I am booked at All Star. I was wondering will I be as happy with All Star as I was with French Quarters. Copuld someone that been to both please give me their opinions on the two hotels.

We have stayed in French Quarter, Riverside, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, the Polynesian, the Contemporary, the Swan, and all three All Stars and I can say without hesitation, we are never dissapointed at the All Stars. In fact, the All Star Music is the resort that we have stayed at most often over the years.

Music - 6
Sports - 4
Coronado - 3
Riverside - 3
CBR - 2
Contemporary - 2
Movies - 1
Polynesian - 1
FQ - 1
Swan - 1

My husband and I are big believers in the All Star Resorts! We have stayed at Music and Movies and enjoyed both very much. We have also stayed at POFQ which was also wonderful but the theming just isn't me so I personally rank All Star Movies over POFQ.

Now that being said, I wouldn't want to stay at All Stars on every WDW vacation. So DH and I will alternate a stay at All Stars with a stay at a moderate just to keep things interesting.

Well, I guess I'll be in the minority here-should I hide after this post? I've stayed at both POFQ and ASMusic, and to me POFQ is definitely worth the difference in cost. Actually, I prefer POR, but either PO has better, more relaxing theming. ASMusic seemed so busy and loud all the time. And CMs at POFQ or POR were much nicer. I'll hide now!

I have stayed at both PORFQ and ASMu and I can say that ASMu has a much better food court.
The quality of the rooms was the same and the pool at PORFQ was much more crowded than the 2 at ASMu, especially since guests at its huge sister resort could use the pool at PORFQ. Bus service at ASMu was far superior than PORFQ which wasn't bad to begin with.

The best part of PORFQ was the small size of the resort - intimate, quiet and charming.

For right now, my family cannot justify the difference in price between the Value and Moderates so our next trip in November will be at ASMo. Once my kids are older I might want to try another Moderate (or even a Deluxe!) but for now, they love the theming at the All Stars.

You will not be disappointed -- I was an All-Stars snob until I actually stayed there!

After our May stay at POR, I would pick an AS any day over POR.
If I was again offered a mod for $10 more a night than a value resort, it would not be POR we would stay at.
