anyone have info on the all stars movie resort? what is good to request as far as room location ina standard room? Anything bad to know about it? How is the food? ::MickeyMo

The Toy Story and 101 Dalmation buildings are close to the front. The food court is delicious...try the Mickey waffles for breakfast.

HTH!

We were in Dalmations 1 bldg (Pongo) and I think it was actually closer than some parts of the Fantasia (preferred) bldgs. We liked the food in the food court just fine, it's standard CS food. The gift shop was pretty nice, the kids sure loved it. We really enjoyed our stay and I can't think of anything bad to warn about.

We stayed in the Mighty Duck and the room was ok. Unfortunately for us it had rained for days and the walk to the foodcourt was bad. We had to run in between buildings and through 1 pool area in the pouring rain. The food was good. Gift shop was good. I just wished it didn't rain so we could have explored outside a little more.

We had a car so I can't help with the busses.

Here is the map of All Movies.

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.
It is a great place to stay .
Preschoolers love it.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie Fantasyland.

The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POP buses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

Also All Star is closer to the main road to get to parks and thats why bus rides are shorter from there than from POP.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

101 Dalmations #1 and Toy story #10 are closest to the food court, buses and fantasia pool for non preferred. We stayed in 101 Dalmations #1 and LOVED it. We will be requesting the same location on our next visit. I asked my kids what value they wanted to try next time since we've only been to disney the 1 time and stayed at movies, I figured they would want to try something new but they want to go back to Movies. This of course is fine with me since it was very nice. I can't think of anything to warn you about. Mousekeeping was great, the room was always spotless and we had tons of towels. We didn't get towel animals but they did set up there stuffed animals in cute little arrangements and the kids thought it was great. I personally enjoyed the food at the food court. My one complaint was that I loved there cheese danishes for breakfast but they must be popular because on a couple of mornings we got up a little late and they were gone. On those mornings I just got a grilled cheese with ham which was also delicious though. Yum! You won't get gourmet but good tasting for a good price. I actually enjoyed the food in the food court more than many of the restaurants we ate at. Of course we have simple tastes. Enjoy your trip.
