Hello! This is my first time posting here. I am planning a trip to Disney World in March. I need to book a hotel and I was wondering if the All Stars Movies Resort would be the best for a 3 yr. old, and also how do I get the best price there? We will have 4 people in the room, my husband, myself, 3 yr. old, and 11 mo. old. Thank you so much for the help! Also, is this walking distance to the parks or would be still need to drive to them? We are going to do 2 days of parks, I'm not sure if we should do Magic Kingdom one day and MGM studios one day. What would be the best for a 3 yr. old?
Thanks!

Shelly

Go to Mousesavers.com and click on "WDW discounts." They publish "codes," which are discount offers to use when making reservations. Note the codes that "anyone can use" (some are only for Florida residents, or Canadians, etc) and call for your reservations. When you call, mention the code and see if there are any discounted rooms available during your travel dates. I believe the current codes are for travel through mid-April.

Keep in mind that if your first choice of resort is unavailable at discount, you can ask about others. I have heard that because the All Star Sports is less popular (in terms of theme), there are often discounts available there.

All of the All Stars resorts are outside of walking distance to the parks. You can use your own car or the WDW buses which travel to each park. Also, the Magic Kingdom is "the favorite" of folks with little ones. Try it one day and you may love it and want to do your 2nd day there too!

Good luck! Welcome to the Boards.

Sorry! On the main page of the DISBoards, click on "User CP." "CP" means "control panel." Here is where other DIS'ers can send you "PM's" or "personal messages."

2 years ago we stayed at All Star Movies when my sons were 3 and 1. The boys LOVED the theme of the resort - it was great. But let me warn you that the resort is very spread out. You will probably want to use strollers to get around it. I agree with the poster above that Mousesavers is a great place to check for special rates.

The deluxe resorts are so nice because they are close to the Magic Kingdom. But you can't beat the price of the All-Stars. My boys still ask to go visit All Star Movies to see the large statues of Buzz, Woody and the Dalmations.

The Magic Kingdom is definately our favorite park. It's perfect for 3 year olds! My boys also love Animal Kingdom. They don't love MGM Studios as much - they don't like to ride any rides there and the shows scare them a little. We usually only spend a few hours there.

Have fun planning your trip!

You can also go to the disney.com reservations page and click on special offers (bottom of the page) make sure you pick resort only reservations since youre only going to the parks 2 days. The package includes tickets for everyday of your trip and you wont need that. Click the small book online link.
If you want a standard room and preferred comes up click the edit button. The new system seems to want to give you the most expensive option first.
This way you can at least get an idea what the total will be and you can book online if you want or call reservations with the code CTN or CPC.
Good Luck!

I just want to Thank you all for your wonderful advice.. We booked a room at the All Star Movies Resort for 79 a night. We already have park hopper tickets, so we're going to go to Magic Kingdom 1 1/2, maybe 2 days and try to get to MGM for a few hrs.

Thanks again! If anyone else has any more advice to make our trip go a bit more smootly, I'll gladly take any advice!!
