DD5 and I just returned from 4 nights at All Star Movies. It was perfectly sized for the two of us, and a great value for the money. I always prefer to stay on property, and we just bought into DVC, but for a quick get-away it was a better way to go. I requested, and received, a king-sized bed - we were lucky! We had a handicapped-access bathroom, so no tub, but that was fine with us. The A/C was not quite pumping when we got there and after one night I called engineering. When we arrived back from the parks it was an igloo in the room - problem solved. The food court was decent for breakfast and we did one dinner there. The pool was PACKED and a little murky, but it didn't stop us for a much needed plunge.
One hint - we were in the Mighty Ducks building, which was most distant from the main building and more importantly, the bus stop. We were actually closer to the All Star Music bus stop, which was very helpful at night when we were pooped. Contrary to other reports, we always had dedicated busses in the am and pm vice one that did stops at each resort. That said, the drivers will sometimes stop at the other resorts just to be nice, so be cautious. We got off at Sports one night on accident and I had to carry a very unhappy sleepy 50-lb 5-year old to our building.
Lastly, there IS a caste system at WDW. While the CMs are just as concerned about you as a guest at the Value resorts, I couldn't help but notice that at each park, the bus stop for the value resorts were by far the most distant! Kind of a weird thing to notice, I know, but for some reason it became very obvious to me!
We're going back in December for our first stay at BCV - and I can't wait now that we've had a taste!
