All-Star Movies locations?

Hello!

We will be traveling to WDW in just a few days, and we are staying at the All Star Movies. We would like to have feedback on which building/area is best to stay in, as we'd like to call up and request it prior to check-in. Yes, I know it's no guarantee, but we were advised to try anyways. Sooo....

Can anyone give us suggestions? We're not staying in Fantasia (because it's a higher rate) but other than that...where have you all stayed?

Also, has anyone traveled with a large party and requested "blocked" rooms? We're traveling with a friend's family, for a total of three separate reservations, and would like rooms in the vicinity of each other if possible. They don't need to be next to each other or anything, but we plan to tour together and would like the convenience of atleast being in the same area.

Thanks for any help!

Toy Story and 101 Dalmatians are great locations for convenience. Both are right next to the main building, and very close to the main pool too. Toy Story is near the playground and Dalmatians is near the quiet pool too.

we went in 2001. we requested to be near our group and they put us all in the same building, on th same floor and right by each other. so definitely ask! we stayed in dalmation building and loved it!!:earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

In addition, Dalmations has a wonderfully clean guest laundry set up in the "lockrooms" right off the Mighty Duck pool.
We always stay in that area and the convenience is wonderful.

Most mornings we carry our breakfast back to the MD pool area and eat "al fresco". it's very quiet, a few sunbathers and a swimmer here and there, but you never have to fight for a table.
It's a fantastic way to begin each day !!

Back in Dec. 2001, we stayed in the Woody section of the Toy Story buildings. Our room overlooked Andy's room and we walked through it everytime we went to our car and back to our room again. The kids loved playing in the bigger than life room. Also I felt it was very convenient to the food court and the buses. I would definately stay in that section again if I stay there again.

We made a quick trip to WDW last month, and stayed in Toy Story #9. We loved it. The building was a 2-3 minute walk to the main building, food court and bus stop. (Convenient to the pool, too, though it was too chilly to swim.)

A couple mornings, while waiting for my wife to get ready, I'd wander over to the food court, get my coffee, and just stroll around the buildings -- Fantasia, Dalmations, etc. I was really impressed with the whimsy and imagination used in putting together these relatively simple buildings. It's like Motel 6 with a sense of humor

Thanks a lot for your advice, everyone!!

I called up this evening and requested the Dalmatians building (because my sister loooooves dogs and confessed that she's a little spooked by Jessie the Cowgirl...not sure why, but we don't need nightmares in Disney World!) with Toy Story as a back up. They were very nice over the phone and said they'd put the request on the list for room assignments and serve as many people as they could.

Thanks again for all of your experience!! Any other tidbits I should know?:D

Be sure to pick up a souvenier from the ASM gift shop that has it's name on it.
You won't find those in the parks and it will bring pleasant memories of your stay at this particular resort.
