I am going Wednesday to WDW and have a Preferred room at ASMo -- I didn't realize that meant I'd be in Fantasia, I found out when I contaced Expedia and requested a room in Toy Story. Anyway, are the themed rooms in Fantasia nice, my son is heavily into Toy Story and I am thinking that I may just eat the $10/night and request a room in Toy Story.

If you were me, would you stick w/ Fantasia or request Toy Story (and if so, which building/floor).

Thanks. I am really excited.

I'd request Toy Story, simply because the downside to the AS hotels (in my experience) seems to be those rooms too close to the pools. People can get very noisy and it goes right through those walls even with your TV on. I had to call the front desk one night at 3:00 AM to ask someone to silence some overexcited splashers at the Sports.

Just MHO

I don't really see why they charge extra for Fantasia, I don't think it's worth it. Toy Story is a good location, not to close to the pool to hear a lot of the noise, but fairly close to the food courts. We like the Dalmatian bldg (my daughter LOVES dalmatians) and we like to location of it as well. My BIL spent $10.00 extra for a "perferred" room and it was noisy than ours. Ours faced the inside courtyard and we didn't have a noise problem any of the times we were there, it was off season though.

Toy Story building 9 ! The only problem is that it is a popular request, so you may not get it. Depends on what you're looking for. I personally don't care for the theming of the Fantasia buildings, and in all honesty, none of the sections is too far from the food court. Some are obviously closer than others, but I don't think they are anything like the hikes to the food court at CBR or CSR ! With "preferred", you are guaranteed that building ... without, it's all the luck of the draw !

If I were you I would request the Toy Story section! Fantasia is too much in the middle of everything. My kids LOVED the Toy Story themed area when we stayed. They said "Hi!" to Buzz & Woody everytime we walked by LOL.

Well, I would keep the fantasia building untill you get there and then see if you can get the Toy Story Building. I too booked a prefered room about a year ago and asked for Toy Story. That's when i found out it was only fantasia. I asked if I could pay the extra 10.00 per night and be assured Toy Story but that was not going to happen.
We stuck with fantasia and were happy. We had the end room, closest to the main building and were like a 30 second walk away. We did face the pool and had a little noise to deal with but not too much. You can ask to face the parking lot for a quiter room if you like.

On check in you could request toy story making it clear you don't expect your money back and unless it is full I am sure they would try to do that.Might even give you your money back. That way you won't risk being in a building far from the main building if that is important to you.

Good luck.

All the rooms are the same except for the characters featured in the art. I'd go for Toy Story personally. The problem here is that if you pay the extra $10 you are guaranteed Fantasia but you are not guaranteed Toy Story if you request it (I've gotten it whenever I requested it).
