I will be going to the disney all star movies for the 3rd time. This will be my first time in december. We normally go in late October but decieded Christmas time would be nice.

What type of weather should we expect. We are coming from New Jersey, december 7- December 15.

How about the crowds ?

Thanks

We are going Dec 9-17...staying in Bldg 9.(Buzz/Toy Story)..never stayed in All-Stars before. We were wondering the same thing about the weather.

From what we've read...the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas (not including Thanksgiving and Xmas) are the slowest times at WDW...least amount of lines, etc. We were there in Nov 2 yrs. ago and the weather was lower 70s...we wore shorts and tshirts on some days and put on sweatshirts at nite with shorts. As the week came to an end...it did get to the lo 40s...but everyone said that was rare. Would love to know if anyone knows anything different.

Do you have any recommendations on good rooms at ASMo?

I have stayed in the Toy story building and in the Fantasmic Building. I kind of like the Fantasmic building better.

I was ther 2 yrs ago on Holloween and it was very crowded and HOT.

Last year we went Oct 6 - 15 and it was hot and lines were long( park not to crowded). Average wait for sm was 45 minutes, 45 minutes buzz and this was the same for most of the parks we visited.

I would like to try a different hotel but my kids think that all star movies is the best. LOL

We'll be there from Dec. 4-12.
Requested Toy Story or Dalmation. We have stayed in Fantasia and really liked it but not for the extra $.
If you are from New Jersey, how bad can the weather in Florida be? ;)
We were there this year in Jan. and it was great!!

We were in WDW Dec 11-18 2001 and the weather was beautiful . I have never had such gorgeous weather on a WDW trip! It was in the 80s every day with sunny skies and it did cool off a bit at night but there were almost always people swimming at the resort pool. There was also almost no one in the parks the first half of our trip. Everything was a walk-on. If you wanted to see a show you needed only show up when it was starting to get a good seat (Fantasmic excluded). DH took pictures of me and there is no one else in the photos! Oddly, the longest we lined up was about 30 minutes for the boat ride in the land pavillion! Early December is a great time to go, all the xmas decorations are out and Mickey's very merry xmas party is going on.

The weather at the time of year is hit or miss. It can be in the 80's or in the 50's. I have been at WDW twice at that time of year. Hit it just right last time it was in the 80's the week we visited but it was in the 50's the week before and the week after. I would pack for both warm and cooler temps.

we always go in december, this year the 4 to the 18, and love it. It is usally in the high 70,s to low 80;s and you can bank on rain but it won't last all day just in the morning ussally.

How are the crowds during the Mickey very merry christmas party ? we are going to this on Tuesday and thursday nights ? I hope they are not over packed. I was at the holloween party 2 years ago and yo could not move.

We will be at ASMo Dec3-10. This will be our second time staying there and we love it. We stayed in Fantasia last time, but requested Toy Story for this trip. Whe I was little I saw Fantasia at Radi City Music Hall in New York at it scared me to death (I was only 5) and staying in the building brought it all back! Anyway, the location is nice but since it is just my DH and I going we couldn't justify the extra cost of the Preferred room which is Fantasia.

We were there in Dec 2000 and it was freezing at night but beautiful during the day. The MVMCP was completely packed, rainy (the only time it rained) and miserable to be exact. The lines were longer than during the day! We probably will avoid it this next trip. It was the only day it rained. Be sure to bring warm (not down type warm, but heavier than a windbreaker) jackets to take the chill off. We loved this weather and for the most part, the parks were uncrowded with the exception of Magic Kingdom at both the party, and during the days. We really loved seeing the decorations!

See you there!

yes, hope to see you there. I wasn't sure we would need jackets ...but we will bring them to be safe.

Does AK do anything special for the holiday ?

You know...I don;t even remeber any decorations at AK. If they were there, they must not have been too spectacular!!

DEFINTELY bring jackets!

I wore a Disney jacket that had nylon on the outside and was lined with sweatshirt material. It wasn't the fleecey fuzzy side of the sweatshirt, it was like the outside of a regular cotton one if you know what I mean. It was the perfect weight. On the really cold nights (the low 50's) and when it rained, I wore it over another sweatshirt, but most evenings I just wore it with a t-shirt. I will be taking it again this year. Also, you might want to bring some knit gloves. We brought ours and were glad we did, they had them for sale there, but they were a lot more expensive. We really needed them after the wetter rides-our hands were freezing! Other than that, we lived in jeans and t-shirts and even shorts on a couple of days!
