Has anyone dined here recently? What did you think of the food and atmosphere? Do you need to make an ADR? I came across this restaurant and thought about trying it out on our trip in October. Dh is a huge sports fan. He is not nearly excited about our Disney trip as I am :confused3, and I was hoping this might be a place he'd enjoy.

IT's "ok" for a sandwich. It's not a sit down table service restaurant. You place your order at a counter and then someone will bring it to you.
DH would probably do better at ESPN over on the Boardwalk.

Did they change this? I recall the first time we went with our oldest DS (he played in a baseball tournament there in 2000), it was a sit down and they took your order.

I don't know when it changed but we were "lured" to the restaurant by friends of ours in 2007. Their prior trip there was like yours and they remembered a TS restaurant.
Unfortunately not so. Now you place your order at a counter when you enter the restaurant.

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it on to our son. He is reciprocating and taking the 13-year old team that he coaches to Disney for the same baseball tournament as we took his team too when he was 13.

This brings tears to my eyes! How nostalgic for your son and what a neat memory he is making for those kids!! I'm impressed.

Thank you. I hate to admit it, but he is a great, young man. He has always been mature beyond his years and always loved baseball and teaching/coaching it. This may make you a little teary too (it does me): one of his players parents lost their job six months ago (the mom has to stay at home because the younger brother is diabetic and something else and often goes into shock...he cannot be left alone); the dad got a part-time job for now to pay rent, etc., until he can get a full-time job. My 23-year old son(who is paying for his second degree in college) is paying all expenses for this player of his to make the trip--airfare, hotel, tickets, food, etc. Although they would have enough players if they did not bring this young man, my son said there is no way that Kevon is not going too! I guess I did all right with this one. :goodvibes

Okay, this didn't just make me teary eyed, it had tears rolling! Those children are so fortunate to have your son in their lives! What maturity your son shows for a 23 year old. Again, I am very very impressed.

I have 3 young boys (who are ball players as well) and we are trying so hard to raise them "correctly". Sometimes it feels like we're beating our heads against a brick wall, but your story gives me hope!!

There is always hope...that's why I didn't tell you about the almost 21-year old. :rotfl: Actually, he's a good kid too (he wrestles in college and coaches kids during the summer)...just not as mature as his brother.

They all face their ups and downs and we do the best we can. I beat my head against a brick wall many times. It does get better...I promise.

And I'm sorry...I kind of hijacked your thread.

Oh no, don't apologize for "stealing" the thread! Thank you for sharing your story and letting me know about your almost 21 yr old too!:rotfl2:
