OK, well after using our extra SSR points and our first UY points for a cruise coming up in January, we still had 73 points to use. We were already set for a Thursday - Sunday stay in Daytona Beach for the weekend of the Alabama-Florida State football game (Sept. 29th - Roll Tide!) with my in-laws, and I have recently had a shift of vacation plans that opened up a few days, so now we have decided to add a couple of days at WDW on the front end for our first DVC Stay.

SO...

I called MS to see what they had for a 2 Bdr on 9/25 and 9/26 and they had OKW, SSR, and Standard View AKV available. I was somewhat surprised that September was so booked up (though I guess now that I think about it, it's only 3 months out, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised). After weighing the options, we have decided to go with OKW as it is the least amount of points, though we are considering waitlisting for BCV. I did request in order to 1) be near the Hospitality House and 2) have a view of the LBV golf course. Any suggestions on where a first-timer should stay at OKW?

We are thinking about adding the DDP, simply because we have never done this, though I am trying to figure out how I can eat $39 worth of food in a day. Any suggestions on which resort TS places would be the best value of my DDP would be greatly appreciated. Right now, looking at any two of Turf Club, Concourse Steakhouse, Kona Cafe, and possible YC Galley or Olivia's. Any other suggestions are welcome! We'll be coming in just after free dining has ended, so hopefully I can get some ADRs over the next few days.

Other than that, FIL wants to see AK, so we are going there on Wed, which works out good since it has EMH, but that only goes til 8pm, so we can still hit a TS that night. Tuesday and most of Thursday we'll probably just hit the pools or maybe the Oak Trails golf course.

I've heard California Grill is quite good but requires 2 TS credits.

I'd personally recommend the buffet at 1800 Park Fair in the Grand Floridian. It's a bargain at 1 credit.

If you wanted to consider other 2 credit options, there's the Hoopy Doo Review and the luau at the Polynesian.

Although I haven't tried Fulton's for lunch, don't forget that members receive a 30% discount for lunch there. I think Webmaster Doc recently lunched there so maybe he could weigh in on this option. So if you did a 2 credit meal somewhere, you could maybe do a lunch at Fulton's and enjoy the discount on an "off day."

I haven't been to 50s Primetime Cafe lately, but that meal is more about the atmosphere of the restaurant than the food. I also liked the brefex at the Garden Grill at The Land in Epcot. Olivia's at OKW serves some very good meals. And, the character buffet (unsure of how many credits) at the Chrystal Palace was very good.
