All sensible ideas considered.....

I have bought a Money Box - one of those you can't open but with a can opener - and put in a euro every day - more if i can - and sometimes notes.
We will open it shortly before our trip in Ocotber - the one i still have to book LOL

DP has been saving in a Terramundi pot for a while. We'll pop it open when it is full.

Edit ours doesn't say NY :)

I'm always amazed how much gets saved just in copper and those dreadful
5p pieces too.
I'm forever emptying my purse and putting it in little bags around the house. The last time we went looking for it all, for the collections for the 2004 Tsunami appeals we found almost 40 quid. :confused3

Hmmmm....
Have you tried...

Offering DH a beer...or 2...or 3, then start rambling on getting gradually more and more boring until he is just nodding and every now and then throwing in a 'yes' 'uh ha' 'hmmm'....works best if also engrossed in fav programme, computer game etc

THEN say 'shall I book a holiday to Disney tomorrow?' Wait for the nod/'yes' /'uh ha...;)

You can then legitimatly say 'well, you said I could last night' :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Not that I've EVER sone such a thing :rolleyes1

Have you considered going for the whole week to a campsite nearby. We stay at Berny Riviere (about 1hr away) which has brilliant indoor pool and is open as late as October. We usually go at Easter and stay in a mobile home.

I know there are campsites nearer (sorry cant remember names at moment) but Im not sure if they are still open in Oct.

We go with Eurocamp but there are other (sometimes cheaper) options- Keycamp/Canvas/Siblu/French Life/Camping Life

Hmm....rambling....glazy eyes.....DH not paying attention....surely it could never happen! ;)

I just looked into that yesterday, since I could use Tesco vouchers for Siblu or French Life. There is a campsite 20 mins away, Les Etangs Fleuris, which used to be on both of their websites I think, but it seems to have disappeared from both of them. The campsite's own website is in rather strange English (!) and only talks about camping or bringing your own mobile phone. Frankly after an incident near the Grand Canyon many years ago I'd rather gnaw off my own leg than camp, and we don't have a mobile home. Not sure from the website either whether it would actually be open Oct half term which is week starting 27 October.

ps just realised you were the one asking about the aparthotel the other day!

why have you decided against using deals to stay there ?

:)

You realise that there are a few who will be wanting to hear your review after August :thumbsup2

you could sell DH!!

any outgrown children's clothes, anything you or DH don't wear any more.

anything Disney does seem to go well - so any souvenirs that you no longer want?

Have a spring clean and see what you can find.

:rotfl: :rotfl: That post has made my day!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Wonder how much I could get for a husband 2 kids and a mad dog? Any reasonable offer excepted!!;)

I phoned and they close 25 October - I wanted to go in half term whichwould be starting 26th Oct!
La Crois campsite is too far I think but I was interested in the other one - however looks like they might close in October too.:confused3

Well that's interesting, because I phoned about Adagio apartments, and after taking all my details the woman said she had to check something, was away from the phone for about 4 mins and came back to tell me they were closing for the winter on 25th Oct. Is it written otherwise somewhere, because if so I'll call back!

:( :(

im so sorry ,it looks as though 25th oct is the last date

and then it reopens on 1st jan

wonder why on earth that is ?! all the other apartments in frenchlife brochure are open all yr ?

It did seem odd to me, you would have thought of all holiday apartments in France, the ones right near DLRP would be guaranteed year-round tenancy!
Ah well.

This is really strange on the Accor website, I can book the apartment for the whole week beginning the 27th October. It's something I've been considering, get the flights with Airmiles first and then see if I can book the Aparthotel with left over vouchers.

Let's hope it's an error on the part of French Life.
