All of HP in one day?

My husband and I are big HP fans, my daughter just got into the books and loves them....trying to see if I can fit a day at universal into the budget somehow. We have 8 days at disney parks so that's ok time wise. But in one day can we see and not rush through, everything potter related? First week of November, can get there at rope drop. I think we would do taxi or shuttle have to price it out.

Anyhow if we had time left over would do a few other rides but really we are just there for Harry potter a friend who went last spring suggested that we need two days....I am thinking we can do it. What do you think?

first week in november is usually a quite tame period for crowds.
going monday - thursday could be to your advantage.

anytime you go to the parks for the first time, you need to be there prior to park openings.
study the lay out of the parks so you know your way around.

check out the park maps for rides, eateries, restrooms, first aide, etc.

if all the rides are up and running and no crowds, you could try to do both parks just for the rides.

a 2 day would be more relaxing but if you only have 1 to devote to the darkside, have fun and do as much as you can.

Yeah I am only willing to give up one disney day right now we would go mid week for sure. It is just so much money for one day! If we don't find it works we will wait until 2018

if potter is your thing, concentrate on those two sections in the parks.

It is doable, but not cheap ..Much like Disney, Universal gets cheaper the longer the stay..ANY one day at ANY Orlando themepark is going to pricey..Keep in mind that for doing ALL of HP including the Hogwarts express, you will need a PARK TO PARK ticket

That and transportation is looking like $650 for the one day. We might have to wait three more years, at least my son will be old enough to ride and to have read hp by then!

I agree with all of the above, but the Harry Potter areas are really very amazing. You could do them both in one day, but would have to consider if it is worth it to pay for one day, two parks, and end up having to skip a lot of stuff due to time (you could cover all of both HP areas, I think, it would be other stuff you would have to skip). We are going in July and only going one day, but we've been before and know what we like and what we don't.

shuttles from disney last year were about $20 a person.
one day park to park tickets are $147

multiply by 2 would bring a one day visit to the darkside at $334.

maybe the op is thinking about 2 day park to park tickets?
or if they use a taxi which could be $35 one way from dtd would add a bit more than the shuttle.

We did IOA and US on the Thursday and Friday before Thanksgiving last year. We could have done all of Potter in both parks in one day if we wanted to. Its doable. Id probably start at IOA to get on the attractions early with the lowest crowds, and then go over to US via HE. Ride Gringotts single rider if the line is very long, which it still can be. Gringotts, FJ, and HE don't have Express Pass so I wouldn't spend the money on EP if you're focusing only on Potter.

We took a cab to US from CBR at WDW and it was $28 including tip. Found taxi prices to be ok, and it was the easiest option since we were able to get one when we wanted it, and it didn't have to be pre-scheduled.

Thanks for asking this . . . we're pondering the same question. We too have a reasonably long WDW stay planned, but DH is adamant about devoting only one day to US, and only if we're going to focus on all things Harry Potter.

I am doing this on April 30.

Touring plans easy I will do it easily as well as hitting all the other big attractions at both parks with express pass

I'm going to agree with the other people here. 2+ days would be preferable but if your goal is mainly WWOHP you can get it done in one day. Touringplans.com and Orlandoinformer.com both have 1 day/2 park touring plans for covering the highlights of both parks. You could use one of them as a starting point and cut out things out don't want to do to make more time for HP.

With younger kids (OP) I'd try to to make sure and hit Cat in the Hat, Suess Trolly etc.. Camp Jurassic and Pteranodon Flyers at IOA and E.T., Despicable Me, Springfield (but not the Simpsons ride) in the studios.

For a slightly older crowd (Disneyfriend), I'd look at trying to add Spiderman, Dudley Do-right and Jurassic Park (if you don't mind getting soaked) at IOA, and MIB, the Simpsons ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and Transformers in the studios.

I've not been to IOA since 1999, but I did some research and threw together a touring plan for my SIL, ILs, and niece and nephew to hit all the Potter rides in both parks in one day. They managed to do it last month, the Friday before President's Day weekend, and even managed some of the non-Potter rides AND got a couple of re-rides on the Potter rides in as well, in less than 12 hours in the parks. They arrived before opening and left the parks by 7 p.m.
