All My Fellow SONG Passengers

After seeing these message regarding Song, I called to check on my ressies. This is the second time mine have changed! First the flight times changed and I lost all my seat assignments, now the flight #'s have completely changed and I can no longer pull them up on the Song website, I have to go to Delta. The Song rep. said that they change flight #'s and time's all the time. There was not mention of a system glitch. I think I'll keep checking day by day now!

I know that when I flew to Texas last year (on American) the flight number did change several times between booking and my actual flight, so a change in flight #'s is not a concern to me. My flights were always identified as Delta flights even though I am flying on their SONG branch.

What does concern me is:

1) Parent Delta's financial situation. (Will this be the one time that it would have paid me to procrastinate?)

2) Checked Song, flight - #'s have changed, but when I went to Expedia for updates they said they could not complete my request and I had to call Expedia (GULP). That is what I am doing now.

Phew, the awesome customer service rep @ Expedia just looked at everything for me. Flight numbers have changed, but my requests are all noted, my flights are the same, and we are good to go in September. (unless the afore mentioned worry #1 comes into play) I was just checking my itinerary before they had a chance to update their systems.

After reading all of this I went to check on our flight home on july 4.Our flight #'s changed but time was the same. I e-mailed them asking if I needed to do anything, they responded YES please call 1-800-fly-song. off to do that now.will let you know.

You people are worried over nothing!

Just accept these changes as the glitches that Delta/Song says they are.

Delta is threatening bankruptcy in order to get concessions from their unions. Even if Delta really does declare bankruptcy, it will be more or less business as usual. They are not the first airline or big company to do this. Besides, the gov’t isn’t about to let the 2nd biggest airline in the country go out of business.

Coreynyc, Yes we were and still are well aware that SONG was always operated by DELTA.
This thread wasn't started solely on the whole bankruptcy thing and if you would have read some of the post in the beginning you would know that. Many of us paid for SONG flights because of certain features of the aircraft. Many of us have children and the TV's were a big part of why we decided to fly w/SONG. I would have chosen Jet Blue but their flight times were not right for me, So to say that we are "worried over nothing" isn't accurate. If I paid for a SONG flight then that's what I expect to have. If I wanted to fly plain ole Delta that's what I would have booked.

::yes:: I second that!!!

Nicely put. When I don't think I'm getting what I paid for, I do worry. If I wanted Delta I would have chosen Delta.

BTW...I was able to pull up our flight information this morning and this afternoon on the Song website.

With amount of money and advertising invested by Delta into Song, do you really think they would pull a bait an switch on you?

In the past year, they converted 30+ Delta planes into Song equipped planes. Why would they revert back to Delta?

Think.

coreynyc--manners--they go a long way, people are not 'worried over nothing', they are expressing quite valid concerns. I think the changes in the website, on top of lots (LOTS) of changes in flight numbers just has people thinking.

People are thinking. Song had a VERY rocky startup here in the NE with flight times switched and out and out cancelled. I am with many other posters who booked a Song flight almost solely due to the TVs (because JetBlue doesn't fly to RSW yet).

I need to call Song tonight, because both my flights have now been re-numbered (which in and of itself it fine) but they both have the SAME FLIGHT NUMBER, which strikes me as odd, that my outbound and inbound flight could be the same.

Debster, very nicely put! I'm concerned because I make plans way in advance and I would hate to think that something could happen to jeopardize one part of my plans. I e-mailed Song today and they did e-mail my e-ticket receipts with the new flight numbers. But I plan to keep checking everyday. Let's definitely keep each other updated.

If your incoming & outgoing flights have the same #, obviously there are glitches!!!!!

This is a good point.

I just wonder why Song flights are now being identified as Delta flights. When I called, the agent said she didn't know why, but that my flight will indeed be on a Song plane, not the plain old Delta.

My flight times and seat assignments are the same, but my flight numbers are different and do say Delta.

As others said, I am not really worried now, but I will have to check every now and then, and that's a pain to keep checking!

I just hope this doesn't impact the online checking process somehow! I think I'll bring my original flight numbers with me to the airport "just in case".

I noticed the change from Song to Delta way before this thread was ever started. I called as soon as I saw it and was told I defintely was still on Song aircraft. No change in seat assignments or flight times, only flight number. If your flight number has changed, then you need to contact Delta or Song so that they can re-issue your e-tickets. Hope this puts everyone at ease.:D

We are traveling with my sister and her daughter. Our flight numbers have all changed, but we are all on the same flights as before.
However, my sisters seat assignments were changed, sh was moved up 8 rows, directly in front of an exit seat.
Their website states that a person in an child seat cannot be in that row, but they put her there anyway.
So they aren't just changing the flight numbers, check to make sure that your seat numbers are intact.
I do plan on contacting them to get new e-tickets, but I want to wait, because something tells me the genius' are going to change it again, just to make sure everyone thinks they are out of whack!

I agree. I have contacted Song 3 times about different flight times & numbers. I now have 3 sets of etickets for my party. I have printed them all out and will take all of them to the airport with me, along with any new ones that I am sure will also be emailed to me. LOL I now check each night to see if there are any changes.

From past experiences if you dont like what Song offers when they change you they will only refund your $ leaving you with no flight. What customer service they offer, if you dont like what we do go fly with someone else. I was told this 3 days prior to departure when all the other flights were $550 and up and I paid $200 round trip.

THat stinks.
I am going to keep my fingers crossed that they don't make any more changes.
I stll have four months left, how many more changes can they make?

Well, according to Song, not neccessarily. Here is a copy/paste of my email to Song, and their reply:

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for your reply. One more question, and I know I am just
being a neurotic traveller. Is it common for a flight number to be the
same on both the outbound, and return flight? It just seems strange to
me, but as long as you nice folks at Song tell me it's OK, I will rest
easy.

Thanks again for your quick response.

Warm Regards

Debbie

Hello Debbie,

I do know it may seem unusual to have the same flight number roundtrip,
but it does happen. We are in the process of making adjustments to our
flight numbers and times. Look at it this way - it makes it simple to
remember your flight number.

You can email us anytime or call 1-800-359-7664 for any questions. That
is what we are here for! And you are not being neurotic!

We look forward to seeing you on Song!

So I am guessing it is just them tweaking their schedule, and resetting flight numbers. I will still be checking every couple of weeks, but will not be stressing too much about it.

Delta is also changing things around. I just checked on my flight to Europe in 2 weeks and my seat assignments have changed. Everything else is the same (aircraft type, flight number, etc.).

Since SONG is operated by Delta, I'm not surprised that changes were made to the SONG flights.
