All inclusive resorts in Cancun??

Yes, don't stay at the Moon Palace and stay on the "strip" if you want that amazing blue water.

Unless you are really into the Cancun 'strip' scene...

Look into places just south on the Riviera Maya.

Really, the right resort for you depends on just what you are looking for in your trip!

Agreed! Plus, the main strip in Cancun is eroding pretty bad. They were fixing it when we were there in Feb, but they had a long way to go and it was a total mess. We stayed at the Gran Bahia Tulum in Riviera Maya and LOVED it!

RIU Caribe was wonderful last August, we LOVED it and met wonderful friends who just came and spent the July 4th weekend with us!!!

DH and I just returned from Riviera Maya and LOVED it!!! We stayed at the Catalonia Royal Tulum and thought this all inclusive resort was amazing!!! We loved it so much, we're pretty close to re-booking for Spring Break. We booked through Apple Vacations and paid $1800 for both of us for one week and that included air.

We didn't leave the resort to go snorkeling like we had planned because we had so many people tell us they had gone on excursions and found the snorkeling at the resort to be much better!

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

We just stayed at CRT also. We went in May and it was great! It was our second time in the area. Next year probably Grand Palladium as we like to try new things. Last time we stayed at Akumal Beach resort and it was good, but recently it's had some bad ratings. All are south of Cancun about an hour.

I know this is only my 2nd post but we returned from this wonderful adults only all inclusive in Riviera Maya a couple of months ago. The name is Secrets Capri *I can't post links yet*

secretsresorts.com/capri/

It is next to the 2nd largest barrier reef and it's just beautiful. It's 35 min from Cancun.

The all inclusive plan includes all liquor which also included top shelf liquor, 6 restaurants and amazing service. They don't require a wrist band like a lot of the all inclusives in Cancun require. Each floor has it's own concierge and we used ours a couple of times. The first time was when the airline didn't get my bf's suitcase on the flight. The concierge contacted Delta and took care of arranging it to be delivered. The next time was arranging a romantic dinner on the beach. It was awesome!!!

The check in was awesome as well. No reservation counter. We walked in, were seated in comfortable chairs, given a glass of champagne, a cool towel and a selection of fresh fruits. When it was our turn we sat in comfortable chairs at a desk and received one on one check in.

While sitting at the beach they had employees raking up the seaweed in the late morning and afternoons. There were waiters that would bring drinks and also took our lunch orders and delivered them to us under the palapa.

They had recliners in the pool, floating rafts and a swim up pool bar with snacks all day. The 6 restaurants were amazing. We went to a wine tasting and a few cooking demonstrations (invitation only) and it was fun.

Restaurants were
Himitsu Asian Hibachi (dinner only)
Oceana for seafood (dinner only)
Portofino for Italian (dinner only)
La Riviera for classic Mexican (breakfast and lunch)
Seaside Grill (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Cactus Club Taco and Ceviche Bar (Daytime hours)

Really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back!

Are you looking for adults only or not. I think that will help narrow down resort choices.

I've stayed at Secrets Maroma (the beach here is in the top 10 in the world) and Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso (which is the "Bellagio" of the RM). Both were amazing, though I thought the food was a bit better at Secrets for dinner, (I preferred lunch at the Grand) but the Grand couldn't be beat for its rooms and grounds. It has one of the few salt water pools in North America (indoor and outdoor) and the beach is pretty great, but rocky. Oh it also has "true" ocean front rooms. They are right on the beach. Secrets seemed to have a bit more of a "party" atmosphere, especially at the pool, but we stuck to the beautiful beach. Both are within walking distance of each other.

I'd check trip advisor, though. There are many travel experts for the area there. Many over there prefer Le Blanc as a luxury resort in Cancun.
