My folks are looking for an all-inclusive family-friendly place where we can all be together "with a fence around it, so we don't all go our separate ways." No Dominican Republic or places my folks fear might be less than totally American friendly.

Anyone ever been to Club Med Sandpiper (FL) or Tyler Place (VT) or Rocking Horse Ranch (NY)? Or any other all-inclusive family-friendly place, preferably in the U.S. or a U.S-friendly place where people from 9-75 enjoyed? Poconos? Catskills? Must be all-inclusive (food and activities)

We love Disney, but that's a no-do for them. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Hi, I worked at Sandpiper for 5 months last year working in the Baby, Petite and Mini clubs. If you have any questions, I'll gladly answer them.

Another vote for Sandpiper. Its in Florida so thats a plus for you and its a terrific Club Med. Something for every age and the food is great.

Oh, keep 'em coming . . .

I should also add that my parents, who live in Arizona, want to travel in either July or August (to get out of the blazing hot AZ heat). This makes Florida tricky, as they are concerned that . . . yup, the heat. But if Sandpiper is the way to go, please help me convince them that there are great ways to stay cool.

Thanks, so far, everyone. :wizard:

Oh, thank you, I will definitely be PMing you. The group will include 5 children, ages 9-11 (as well as 6 mid-40s and 2 grandparents), and given my parents' reservations about FL in July/August, anything WOW you can share about activities for that aged kids is so appreciated!

Well DH and I took the kiddies twice to the Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos. Very very nice . But since you're going in July or August, this might not be a good choice.

I've never been there, but a few people I know took their families to a place in Vermont called Smugglers Notch. They couldn't say enough good things about it.

Thank you, roliepolieoliefan! I hadn't heard of this one, so I'll also look into it!

I so appreciate all the help, everyone, so PLEASE keep 'em coming! :wizard:

A friend of mine really enjoyed Rocking Horse Ranch. They stayed for 4 days, and are planning on returning someday. The kids pretty much had free reign of the place, and the parents felt very comfortable letting them (they were 10 and 9 at the time).

I looked into Tyler Place, and thought it was pretty pricey, but it sure looked like a lot of fun, and sicne we live in VT, we wouldn't have to pay for airfare - but even then it was more expensive than going to a tropical all-inclusive.

I have never been to Smuggler's Notch, but I have heard a lot of people rave about it, too. Check it out.

We are going here this summer: www.canoeislandlodge.com . It is on Lake George, NY - and there is a ton of stuff to do there in the summer.

Good luck.
