All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Frontierland really is fun to wander around. I love all of the little details there!

Ugh...good luck today!!! :wizard:

Yes, and that's another place I don't spend enough time wandering around.

Thanks. I'll give a synopsis tonight.

Good morning MeMom. It does not sound like your day is going to start off so good.

Loved walking through Frontierland with you this morning.:goodvibes

They have some really cute pins. Did you buy any??

Full memory card-I hate that when that happens. I had a 16gb in my camera this time so I was all set.

The drama had a twist to its ending.

I bought three pins on this trip - ToT, for Brooklynn's first time to ride with me, a Contemporary Christmas, for our resort hopping time, and a 2012, for New Year.

I had an 8 and a couple of 4's. I think I will get another 9 before I leave.

I LOVE the Walt Disney World spelled out in pins!!! So cute!!

Good luck with the mom this morning!! I worked at a preschool for 3 years. The kids were great, but I left because I couldnt handle the parents. :confused3

Thanks for starting my Wed morning off in FrontierLand!!

Some parents believe everything their little sweeties tell them, no matter how one-sided and obviously untrue it is.

Glad you enjoyed the time in Frontierland. How about we get a Mickey pretzel and a lemonade now and sit a spell for some people watchin'? We might just happen upon that bad guy they're giving a ree-ward for! :goodvibes

Oh, gosh, hope your morning went okay after that meeting. UGH!

That little shop in Frontierland is where my dad just a few days later got his sheriff's badge from the CM! I'm pretty sure he still has it; he was so excited and kept telling my mom, "this means I'M in charge!"

I also was admiring the Walt Disney World sign in there. :goodvibes I love it, I'd take one with either that or my name spelled out.

YUCKY way to start your day. Hopefully it all got worked out. We have those parents here too....They're at every school.

I love the pin of the small world kids! I've never seen that one! :)

Love all the fun pin pictures - I got a few on our March trip and like you use them on my bulletin board. I like them so much better than regular push pins - this could be addictive :scratchin

Hope the meeting went well - can't wait to hear what happened.

The badge tells the story - he is the boss.

Or at least your mom can let him think that. ;)

It seems like in the last 2-3 years, there has been a boost in Small World merchandise. :thumbsup2

I have really enjoyed collecting the pins. There are so many to want, though!

Another fun update! Oh dear about the parent-hope it all ended up ok.

Oh, what a not fun way to start your morning. Let us know how it all goes MeMom!

After a talk with the assistant principal this morning, here's the story on the 'incident'.

The boy and girl involved have a love/hate relationship. I guess yesterday was hate day. They had words, but there was no physical contact. Turns out the boy lied about the girl stabbing him. The serious injury to his hand was a blister that he had peeled open.

For whatever their words were, the AP had them apologize. The boy apologized, but the girl got an atittude and stomped around, so she ended up spending the better part of the day in the office. The boy's mother was called after he admitted nothing happened. (She had not come to school, as she had said she would be doing.) I do not know what her reaction was. I only know that the screaming she was doing on the phone yesterday and the threat that she wanted everybody on her list in the office this morning, and more than that, the threat that 'somebody is going to jail' was really a little too much drama for a blister.

I looked at his hand when the AP sent him to class, before I had even talked to her or heard any of the confessions or what happened with the girl, and as soon as I saw it I thought it looked like a blister. You would think after four kids, his mom could have been able to tell it was a blister, too.

Anyway, drama avoided, and as far as I know, no one went to jail today. :)

I love all those pins! I havn't even really gotten into collecting them, but I just love looking at all of them! :cool1:
Haha good luck with the mom... not a fun way to start your morning :thumbsup2

Love all the details you photoed in Frontierland. So much to see. I loved the fudge we got there late one night. We nibbled a little each night.

When I first read the story about the little I knew there had to be more to it. Glad it had a better outcome.

Whew!! All caught up I was sooo behind (on page 81:scared1:) so it took a while to catch up. I forgot what I was going to comment on I should have taken notes. :rotfl:

There are so many pins to see. I am trying to collect all the resort pins right now, and I get one for each first time 'big kid' ride with Brooklynn.

The 'mom bomb' was diffused, luckily, since
a) she never showed up
and
b) the incident never happened! :sad2:

Sometimes I will bring home a piece of fudge, put it in the freezer, and get it out for a nibble here and there for several months. :)

Good to see you! :woohoo: I hope the picture list on page one is helping people get to the 'meat' of the report.

I am glad the "incident" turned out okay. Interesting that mom was so bent out of shape and then didn't show. Hmm... Nuf said.

I think the resurgence of the It's a Small World stuff might have something to do with the artist Mary Blair - she designed all that stuff, and I think she recently passed away.

I like to collect resort pins too - I've bought one from every resort at which we've stayed (I think I might be missing SSR and BLT though!). I like the year ones and event ones too. I remember in 2009 we were at MVMCP and waiting for the parade. DH went in to the Emporium or somewhere to find pins. He didn't know which one to get, so he bought 2 of EACH MVMCP pin they had!!! There were at least 6 different ones!

My kids liked to trade - and each one was trying to collect a group - for Sarah it was anything Tinkerbell. For Paige it was sparkle dress princesses. She has all of them now and is working on the baby princesses.

I like what you do for Brooklynn and the Big rides! If I go on EE - I will be buying a pin, and a shirt and...

I always enjoy seeing the way they do these things.

I wish I could be as creative and figure out how to do the girls' names.

My daughter is making one of those right now for a girlfriend's baby due in July. She's doing the baby's name and then putting the Princesses in the letters. It was laying the the kitchen table last night and it's pretty awesome. Just in black and white so far. She'll be adding the color soon. Maybe I can post a picture when it's done.

I've been a couple weeks behind on your posts. Just got all caught up. Loving all the parade and shopping pics. Your Jungle Cruise Night Meeting looked like fun too.

I've never seen a parade at Animal Kingdom yet. Guess that's another thing I need to try for on this trip.

Have a great day.

I think that's actually what she said - he could keep thinking that!

I'm glad that incident turned out okay. I work with preschoolers, but there are definitely some love/hate relationships going on between some, even that young. Glad no one went to jail. ;)

Just popping in to say hi!!! I am enjoying your adventures in Disney on my days off from working here. Lol. I get to go tour the new Art of Animation on Monday!!! I'll be sure to pop by and let you know how it looks (possibly with pictures)

Bella is into the Disney Princesses in a big way. She loves the baby ones, and she loves riding them around in a stroller. I would say steer away from things with a million parts for everyone's sake!

Okay! I'm going to go shopping this weekend!
-I LOVE that WDW pin framed photo! I have wanted that for a long time!
-That would be such a great idea for the girls! I would love that as a birthday gift!
-Love the haunted mansion pin set!
-I haven't visited Hilton Head or Vero, but I hope to make it there someday!
-I have never seen country bear jamboree!
-Sorry you had to deal with an irate parent! Glad it was resolved!

I was just checking in on your trip report and your pictures got me extra excited for our upcoming trip. This time next week I will be getting ready to spend the first of nine nights at Pop Century! We haven't been in three years and this is our longest trip yet. I'll be there during some big events - the scheduled re-opening day for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the last day of Snow White's ride, the opening of the Art of Animation, and my birthday! :) If we can just convince my 8 year old nephew that Splash Mountain does more than "dump you over the side of a waterfall" and that he can ride the Haunted Mansion, as he has declared he "will not ride anything with the word haunted in it!" His 5 year old brother, on the other hand, is most looking forward to riding those two rides for the first time! It is always funny how different two children can be. Thank you for all your pictures and commentary on your trips. I would love to go at Christmas sometime, especially to see that parade I have watched so many times on tv!

My original intent was to get one from every resort at which we stay, but with the way they are getting rid of resort specific merchandise, I am just going to go ahead and get one from every resort visited in case they ever stop making them. And that would be all resorts except for Shades of Green. I'd like to see that resort, but I don't think non-guests are allowed on that property.

Whoah - you got a lot of Christmas pins! :laughing That's a cute story. :)

Brooklynn is too young to really have a theme in mind, at this point. She just picks whatever 'tickles her fancy' when she looks at pins. :cutie:

Well, that's good to hear, because today is really not a good day to go to jail! :rolleyes2

Definitely not. :sad2:

Please do show us a picture of the finished product!

I hope you get to see the Jammin' Jungle Parade. It has a different 'feel' than a MK or Hollywood parade.

These kids are so up and down with each other. After a year together, they become a family of sorts, and with that comes some bickering. The kids get over the squabbles and are best of friends again, but the parents sometimes jump in and get things way out of proportion. I am glad neither mother came to school, because things could have gotten really bad for them and sad for their kids.

All that for a blister, huh? I'm glad all avoided jail. ;)

A lot of drama for such a little thing. :upsidedow

Very cool! We will hope for pictures. :cheer2: I can't wait to get over there in five more weeks to get loads of pictures!

So many of our DIS friends praise a Vero stay. We want to get over there, for sure.

You will love this long trip! You can do a few things and get in plenty of rest and pool time every day. I love the long trips. ::yes:: This will be my longest at 13 days.

Maybe you can offer your nephew a dollar to at least try the ride once. That's all we ever ask of Brooklynn - just ride it once, and then if you never want to again, that's fine.

Of course, she's gone from a quarter to a dollar in the past year, so your 8 year old may need $5 to be good to go. ;)
