Yup - everyone (full and part time) just lost 1hr in pay. One fulltimer went from 35 to 28hours. One parttimer went from 18 to 6hrs and 1 parttimer was cut completely. I was one of the 1hr people. Now on my night to work instead of 1230-8 it's 130-8.
More cuts coming in July.

Things are starting to get very tight in Ma. right now. Lots of cuts everywhere:( Sorry you have to go through this but 1 hour is not so bad and you can plan for the additional changes in July. You have time to get ready. I know of many teachers that are in danger of losing their jobs in June. I wonder who is going to teach these children with even less manpower than they have now?:(

I'm glad you only lost one hour. Hope the cuts in July don't affect you.

Gemmie, I know what you mean.
A lot of my friends that are teachers are very afraid of losing their jobs. .
It's frightening being a state or city employee in MA nowadays. Losing an hour is inconvenient and I'm sure is upsetting, but fortunately it is only an hour.

it seems things are bad everywhere right now
I hope that is the only cut you have to face
good luck

I suspect the same will happen in California, where I live. With our state in such financial distress, the funds to the cities is being way cut back. Add that to the nationwide economic problems...

This is another sign of the rough economic times. Unfortunately, even a few hours of loss in pay can effect an individual's financial situation drastically. Hope it all works out.

Well, at least if you live in Mass you can go drive the Chunnel or Tunnel or whatever they call it, for your next economical vacation! See, the Big Dig pays off in more than one way (-:
