I agree that there have been some unfair bans, in which people are banned because someone got mad at them and made something up to report them for. But most of what you are mentioning above does not sound like unfair bans to me. I'm not trying to be rude or mean, but talking about AIM is in the same boat as giving out personal information, which is strictly prohibited. I know that there are people who talk about it and get away with it, but that doesn't mean that we should do it, too. The friends who got banned for "making out" deserved it, if they were doing such a thing. Sexual acts are also strictly prohibited, and the staff is doing a good job if they ban the people who do such things. I admit that I do not see the reason in you being banned for asking staff to come to your room; that seems a little over the line. And there has been proof that an unfair ban can be retracted if you call the 'black hole' enough. Perhaps this is not the best way to deal with unfair bans.

I'm sorry that you feel things are so unfair, but I don't agree. The kids who got banned for making out and giving phone numbers were legitimate bans. Another person getting banned for talking about AIM is the same thing. It should be no surprise when people are banned for any hint of sexual behavior and giving information that leads to making contact outside of vmk. This has always been against the rules. VMK is making an attempt at keeping their site safe while still trying to allow people to communicate openly. That is not an easy task. If people want to speak freely.. make out.. whatever there are tons of places on the internet to go do that, vmk isn't one of them, why keep trying to do what is against the rules there?

Also, I had a talk with a staff member once about "reporting". I was told that people who abuse the report button, and continually pester staff with issues that are NOT against vmk rules will get themselves into trouble and possibly banned. Before you call for help, make sure you are reporting something that is truly against the rules, and not just something that is annoying you or making you mad. As an example, getting booted from someones room is not something to report, its not against the rules. If someone is saying something annoying.. like "kick.. or hit.. or you're ugly" my advice is to use ignore or leave the room, or even both. Using help for every little thing is only being a tattle tale. If staff seem short or rude at times, its most likely because they are getting 50 cries for help, that they don't need to be getting, try putting yourself in their shoes once in a while.

I'm sure there have been instances of unfair banning in vmk, but I also think that many who post about their unfair bans are only telling their side of the story and as we know, there are always two sides to every story. I choose to believe that vmk is doing their best to act in the interest of safety, and I support their efforts.

I am sorry but I don't mean to be mean but most of the bands that were listed are legitimate bans. I of all people know exactly about rediculous bans. Nanoer's situation doesn't seem right. Captain your situation doesn't seem right either. I also believe that people like Karo should not have been banned at all either. VMK used to be a lot more ban happy then it is now. I am actually happy with what they are doing now. They have calmed down a lot.

Ok I know sometimes people think bans are unfair especially if its a close friend but... A lot of bans are against VMK Values, Now giving away your Phone Number is really really REALLY bad and dangerous, If you make a good friend on VMK and get close with them and earn there trust, you still never know who is on the other side of that computer screen.So that person deserved it, VMK is not trying to make people upset by bans... but just safe. Now the "Making Out" thing is not appropriate for VMK or online.Little kids play this game and if they see other people doing it their gonna start doing it, now I know that little kids probably do it but that does seem worth a ban. Also what tigressjewel said about "reporting".Now for many guests they may think reporting is for if someone is afk and not moving or if someone makes them mad or angry or wont trade with them, but its not. The report button is for scams and harassment. I've heard of A lot of people getting band because they would not trade with a guest and that guest reported them now I think something like that is an unfair ban. Guests and others really need to use the button for an emergency not just because someone wont trade with them. So lets say someone was being annoying and bothering everyone, the Ignore button should be used for that one, but maybe if someone tried to scam you then thats used for the report button. Im not trying to be mean but I just wanna prove a point

I am so sick of people that run off and tattle for every known vmk offense. Is it VMK staff that has gone to far or are they just getting overly flooded with people complaining? Personally I've gotten banned for stupid things and I've had friends get banned for no reason at all. I think if they are going to ban they should check the chat log and make sure its legit. I've even had someone say they were going to report me for not trading with them. Whats up with that!

I agree 10 years, I mean come on, 1 week yes, even 1 year maybe but 10! Thats like getting sent to prision for 10 years on stealing a pack of gum. Slap them on the hand and give them a week, if they continue to do it, well then yeah 3 strikes your out a 10 year ban is worthy.

ok i just want to say that some people being banned are fair and need to be banned. first off: many people do talk about "aim, yahoo, and other mail places" in vmk, but something will only happen if a staff or somebody reports them. so cleary that is a fair ban. now for you getting ban for asking them to come to your room, is unfair but are ylou sure that is the only problem?!?!? you have to make sure before you jump to conclusions! now lastly your friends should have been banned and i would do it if i was staff as well. VMK is a game for kids but many adults play and it is all about disney!!! and then you see Staff saying keep vmk safe and stuff, well in my eyes and i am sure is staff's "making out" is not what the game is for or keeping vmk safe. i know there are many people out there for being banned for no reasons. but staff can make mistakes, but many of these you say are "unfair" are actually FAIR BANS.

i like what you said about sending the parents of the bannee a mail saying what they did. i think i am going to write vmk with that suggestion! well remember most of the bans out there are FAIR and saying aim is bad, as well as "making out" or "dating" because this is not a game to meet people to go out with. if you have not noticed it is a DSINEY GAME! well another thing: many people may seem that they were unfair banned but truly they may not be telling the entire story. like Nanoer i know for a fact that the aim situation was not the only reason for your ban because i remember you saying that you have been warned many times by STAFF. and Capt. i do not think that is the only reason why you got banned so i would check into that.
