All bmi baby flights to Paris CDG cancelled from 11th June

oh great.....
flybe hand luggage sizes are smaller than bmi baby........ now whats the **** do i do as we bought new luggage to use and cant take it back!!!!!!!!!

i seriously give in...... wud i b ok blagging it and pretending i have no clue at the airport???? *** flying out is no problem (as long as they dont cancel my flight)

really really no looking forward to this holiday now..... id cancel if i hadnt paid all the money :sad2:

EDIT - went online on bmibaby site, and my booking ref still takes me in, BUT the return flight is no longer there.... dare i hope??? that all is ok??? looks like refund of £100 which means its cost me a further £150 for the new flights, and then fuel on top!!! flight time is the same - but now realised i need to find where fly be flies out of and notify transfers!!!! eeeeekkkk this is too hard.... and im ill too....

Aw Nikki - huge hugs to you

I hope you get sorted soon. Did you book the other return flight? What a b*mmer that it is £150 more plus expenses. To be honest when I first read Elaine's post I was more than surprised that she only had another £50 to pay as we all know the nearer to the flight, the more expensive!

I know it's cold comfort now, but once you are in DLRP hopefully it will be worth it.

Elaine - do you mean that your outbound flight is still running as it's before 11th June? Do you think they will refund you that then? In the circs they should as it's always cheaper to buy return fares than singles. If you'd only bought a return flight it probably would have been more than the return with the new airline! :headache:

Hope you manage to get through soon - I thought it would be busy on the lines today. Wouldn't like to be working in their call centre today! :scared1:

Honestly, it is sometimes stressful enough booking a holiday and travel and all the other bits without all this going on as well!

yes, my outbound flight is on 10th, and is still operational, but my return is 13th, which has been withdrawn.

looks like i;ll have to contact them for clarification.

Yes unfortunately it does look like you will have to call them. I can't see it being a problem. They would be unreasonable to refuse the refund. Was it a return you booked - I think you did say it was? Rather than two one way flights...

Let us know how you get on when you eventually get through :scared1:.

just off the phone with them, they've confirmed that they are happy to cancel both outbound and return flights and provide a full refund, which should be processed and confirmed by email within the next 24 hours :).

Nikki I hope you manage to sort everything out so that you're not stressing out too much about the changes to your travelling arrangements.

elaine - ive given in..... damn cold has kicked in with force, and added headache from the stress isnt helping....

flight back is same time, just diff terminal which now means i got to hunt for maps and videos on new terminal as never been thru that..... not worryin bout transfer, as still same pick up time needed, just droppin at diff terminal - which can tell them either when they collect us from cdg or as they pick us up to take us back.....

just the costing more thats upset me..... so re-looking at meals to try n save a bit, and obviously worrying more about the bags being over the size flybe accept....

glad uve got urs sorted tho phew!!

maybe you should just take a step back from it for the rest of today, you've been through enough upheaval :(.

Nikki - glad to hear you have got another flight sorted but sorry it has cost you so much more:hug: hope you manage to get the bag thing sorted too. It is really horrible when things like this turn your plans upside down.

Elaine - glad to hear they are refunding both flights without any problem, it would have been pretty unreasonable if they had refused but with some of these companies anything is possible. :confused3

Yay Elaine - really pleased for you :cool1:. Good news on the refund too. Some of these places like to take your money quickly but are slow to return it :headache:.

DH just had to hire a van this week and it cost £130 for the term. Little did I realise they also debited £200 from our account as the deposit as well!! :scared1: He returned the van today and said something to me about 'that is details of the refund', I asked 'what refund'.... 'oh the one they debit for the damage deposit'! Needless to say, I was not amused. I thought these things usually worked where they just take card details and debit if there is a problem :confused3. So now we are £200 down and waiting for this 'refund' to magically reappear! :furious:

Anyway, slightly OT!

Nikki - is your bag dimensions much over? I think often they ask you to put them in these metal 'cage' type things - you drop them in, if they fit OK, you are fine :confused3. If I were you, once you are feeling better, I would give the airline a ring and hypothetically ask about the measurements/how they gauge it :rolleyes1. Otherwise, it will continue to worry you .

ive switched off from it all now lol

bmi babys cabin bags - 55 x 40 x20
fly be cabin bags - 50 x 35 x 20

we have the sub 0g bags which r 56 x 36 x 21....

im worried if i phone n ask that they will know its me lol im kinda goin ostrich on it as in forgetting in and hoping, if they did ask in paris, that with 2 tired kids in tow and me explaining one is autistic that they wud take pity on us lol

are your bags the type you can smoosh down? they are only 5cms too tall by the sounds of things, and if they're at all flexible bags, you could just smoosh them down to make them fit in the guage if necessary.

actually, its only 5cms, I doubt anyone will ask you to put them in the guage, they are not obviously too big at all, in my opinion.

thanks elaine :goodvibes

prob not too easy to sqwish as its the bit that has the wheels n handle...... as i said..... i dont care now lol

am watching my account for how much refund goes in as i am just worried they cancel the out flight too lol am not gonna stop worryin til on the plane i reckon haha

now, wudnt a nice upgrade or goodies in our room go down nicely after all this??? :rotfl:

am off to bed so now to dream about upgrades & goodies :lmao:

Oh goodness Nikki, for 5 cms, I really don't think it will be a problem. Like Elaine says, they'll probably just guess by looking and ask those who are obviously miles bigger to put in a gauge (having said all that don't think I've seen anything at Paris like that but have in the UK?). You'll be fine, I'm sure :thumbsup2.

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow :goodvibes.

Do not worry about the 5cms with FlyBe! I had exactly the same panic when I travelled with them on business last Oct having always flown AirFrance realised FlyBe's allowance was smaller and my cabin bag was about 5cm over. Flew from Mcr and they didn't even look at my cabin bag hardly and same deal coming back from CDG x

You poor people, you have my sympathy. Elaine, you must have missed a few heartbeats but glad it all seems to be coming together for you now with not too much extra expense and a bonus couple of hours to compensate somewhat. Nikki, just hope you are able to get sorted soon too without too much inconvenience and cost. Is there anything you can claim back through travel insurance? Hope you are feeling better today.
