All Ap Guest That Cannot Book BR And That Dont Have An AP Rate for October

I don't have a reservation yet. I'll probably end up at a moderate, but the whole goal of my trip was to "show off" Disney to some snobby adult friends who think Disney is only for kids.

They are not going to be impressed with a moderate; but, I know if I could have scored WL or AKL for a decent rate, they would have LOVED it.

They travel all over the world and stay in pretty nice hotels for cheaper than I would be able to get even WL or AKL rack rate...so that wasn't an option.

I was hoping for cheap AND nice....I'm sure we will still have a fun trip.

UGH!!! Well, I tried. . . :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I'm so glad I ran across this thread! When I booked my reservation a week ago - at the 60 day window... There was no AP discount available... this new "policy" angers me, but I don't know why!

I'm not usually the kind to whine about someone else getting a discount that I didn't get. I'm not sure what to say in my email to Disney... wah, I didn't get a discount? Yes, I want to cancel my ressie if I don't get the discount (just on principle)... but wouldn't that be cutting off my nose to spite my face? I do want to go to Disney world! LOL

We're in Tampa in October for a huge skating competition for my daughter... thought it would be nice to take my daughter to WDW for a long weekend.

Suggestions on what to say in my email?

For what it's worth, I just sent an e-mail too :confused3 It's disappointing but I will enjoy my Oct tri :goodvibes p anyway!

I think as long as anyone is still going to WDW and you are paying the regular prices, that they truly won't care. Why should they lower your rate when you already have ressies for the regular price. Just to make us "happy"? I doubt they care that much...

Well i just spoke to guest services and I cancelled my reservation.I will stay off site and check into BWV on the 23rd.I am so mad I cannot stand it.They do not care.

I think not staying at a WDW resort is the only way it will make them even start to care. But for every one of us who looks for an AP discount, there are many others planning a WDW trip who have never even heard of an AP, a code, or any other kind of discounts offered. They just book at whatever rate the TA tells them. I know--my first trip was like that.

I agree - and pass the word along to everyone you know.. Money (or lack of it) is the only thing that will get the attention of the powers that be..

BEAUTIFUL offsite accomodations are available that will afford you MUCH more room and usually for a LESSER price..

And if you do decide to stay offsite, be sure to email Disney and let them know why.. ;)

Just got this in response to the email I sent, thought you might be interested. I'm not holding my breath but it's better than the sorry tough luck response.

Thank you for your e-mail to the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Here is a copy of what I sent...

I'm hoping you can help me out with this situation. I'm a little
frustrated about the October gap for people with annual passes and the
ability to book under the best rate program. I fully understand that
discounts are not a right of passage for annual passholders and I will
continue coming to WDW 2-3 times a year because my family truly loves
it. My frustration comes from the inability to take advantage of this
program because I happen to be coming to WDW during October. Originally the 120 day booking window excluded me and others because we were too
close to our vacation. Now the change to a 60 day window (which I
believe is an excellent change) still excludes the mid-October group. I would certainly hope that something could be done for us folks stuck in
the middle of October. Thank you so much for your help!

My wife and I wanted to stay at the Boardwalk or one of the other Epcot resorts for an anniversary trip arriving Oct. 21... the hotel discounts were one of the reasons we purchased our APs. We won't cancel our trip, but given the lack of any discounts available, rather than just step down to a moderate, we will indeed go offsite. I've already booked a room in a one bedroom condo 2 miles from WDW... lots of space (kitchen, living room, washer/dryer), virtually as close to the parks time-wise as a moderate or value WDW resort, and a lot less money. It's a small protest, but it gives me some satisfaction...

I, for one, will be very surprised if they do anything. I am in the black hole - I am booked at POP from 10/7-10 prior to our stay at BWV. I just returned yesterday from a wonderful stay at the Swan and was in shock to see that there is absolutely nothing for AP holders for that timeframe. I am another that could not book 120 days out when the program first came out and can't book now at the 60 day window.

What everyone has to remember is that there are additional options. Case in point: We did many strolls along the Boardwalk over the weekend and the YC/BC (not villas) and BWI were kind of empty. Swan and Dolphin, however, appeared to be very busy with the wonderful specials out there for government/nurses/AP holders and the general public.

Since I got a hard-sell from a CM to purchase PAP's for my family of FIVE last spring, I am really, really angry about this new program that locks us out of getting even a small discount discount during our fall break. Perhaps I am "cutting off my own nose to spite my face," but Disney will not be getting even MORE money from me. We will be heading to the beaches of NC instead.

I may be wrong, but hasn't there almost always been parts of a month that Disney hasn't offered an AP rate for even when they had the phone service? I remember people complaining before about their dates not being included for one reason or another when AP rates were released in the past. So I don't think it is necessarily that a time period was left out of BR as much as they didn't feel they needed to fill rooms during this period of time. Not a comfort I know and it stinks for those missing out, but I just don't think it's really a BR problem. :confused3

Just wondering if anyone has had a reply to their emails yet , aside from the standard no AP rates available for these dates ? and is so what the response was

Just as a matter of curiosity does anyone know the last time AP Rates weren't avaiable for a certain time frame ? I seem to rember that there were none in September 2003 . Is this 2 week spell in October 2005 the only other period in the last couple of years

Cheers

Fred

Yes, I received a reply but although is didn't say the standard " too bad, soo sad, your going to have to pay full rack rate"

It did say " we'll pass it onto the someone further up the chain, who can look into it" :rolleyes2 :confused3

But I haven't hear anything since. :badpc:

I am one of those people in the AP October black hole. I sent a email to WDW regarding my missing opportunity for the BRP and the 120 day limit when I missed the program by1 day. A very nice gentlemen called me from WDW and listened to my concerned and explained that I could not take advantage of the BRP because of the 120 days out limitation, but the BRP was only an added benefit for Annual Passholders and the the old AP rate program would still be in available when released.
When I heard about the new '60 day out rule', I was a little upset, but I wasn't going to write again. Well, now I see that the old AP call in system has been eliminated (or the rumour mill has it so) .......so I wrote another email to WDW and sent it off today. Not, sure if it will help, but I want to make my voice heard.

I'm curious if anyone else got this response... and yes, I got the standard:

"Thank you for writing to the Walt Disney World Resort. Your comments are appreciated, and a member of our staff will contact you for further details, if necessary."

Then today I got an email from "mail delivery system" that said:

"This is the Postfix program at host tsebmailrly02.starwave.com.
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.
For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>
If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.
The Postfix program <guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com>: delivery temporarily suspended: connect to mailrlyin01f.starwave.com[199.181.135.51]: Connection refused"

This bothers me...

I had the very same thing happen....
first I sent the email, and got the usual response
that someone would be in contact with me....
never heard anything, and then about three days later,
I got the email saying that my original email
was not able to be delivered.....
Which is really kind of strange, because I have sent
email before, type the address in wrong, and have
gotten this type of email saying that it was undeliverable,
but got the reply usually within mins up to an hour,
BUT NEVER THREE DAYS LATER, I know email isn't that
backed up.... COME ON DISNEY!!!

I also sent an e-mail stating that I excepted Disney's 120 BRP and it was my lose for booking a last minute trip. When the 60 day out BRP came out I felt Disney slammed it's doors in my face. At the time of release I was in the 50's.

I realize all their codes are a perk, but felt boiling blood run through my veins. It's one thing to miss an opportunity by months, but when that opportunity is changed and your flight is booked and you miss it by days and there's nothing else offered for the Black Hole Visiters. You do get a little ruffled.

Got the usual e-mail reply.
