All american BBQ or Hoop De Doo?

Doing Disney in December, Suprising daughters with visit arriving on Christmas Day!! Staying at BCV. Can't decide on Hoop de doo or All American BBQ. There will be 4 of us, DW, DD age 6, DD age 9. Suggestions?

Well, the BBQ will only be running one day while you are there (Dec. 26th), so that may influence your plans. We haven't done either yet, but we are doing the BBQ on December 17th and I am looking forward to it. Also, keep in mind that the week you are talking about is an EXTREMELY busy time of year, so one or both of those events may be sold out already. It might come down to which one is available. Have you checked availability for either?

I havent done the BBQ, but after doing HDD 2x in the past 2 years, I would definitely say give that a shot. We had the best time at the show. The food is wonderful and we couldnt stop laughing. I had tears rolling down my face! The only downside is that transportation getting back to your resort stinks if MK is closed, but the show and dinner were worth it to me(although I may take a cab next time).

We've done HDD and enjoyed the entertainment.
Food was okay.

Does the BBQ run all year or just specific times?

We haven't done this one yet - going May 2003.

We have done both and I much prefer HDD. The BBQ was a huge disappointment. We thought the food was fine, but the character interaction was terrible. I know HDD doesn't have characters, but it is very funny and involves the audience a lot. Have a great trip.

Is it mostly just for eating?
