hey everybody,
just wanted to start a thread about the best hotel in disney. Just wanted to know what are your favorite things about the hotel? And if for some strange reason you don't like something about it what is it?

The Dolphin is a great resort! I really like the location and those wonderful heavenly beds!!

Great view of Illuminations from a balcony room, the newly renovated rooms are great, wonderful pool, quick boat to MGM, good bus service, Tubbi's take-out pizza, the Club Level lounge, discount for Teachers and Nurses and we found the staff to be just as friendly (if not more so) as the "real" Disney resort.

We love the Dolphin!

we love the location, the pool is great, always a lounge chair, staff is friendly, the nurse/teacher rate. not too crazy about the lobby decor..can t wait to go..only 42 more days!!!!

We loved the Dolphin too especially bing able to walk to Epcot and MGM as well as the 3 Disney resorts that are so close. The room was great, the staff were really nice and the breakfast was just the best in WDW. We often sat outside an watched the Epcot fireworks.

Also it was nice being able to go by boat to two of the parks. I found this much more relaxing than the bus to MK ar AK.

My only problem with it was that there were many business conferences in the Hotel at the time which somewhat spoiled the enjoyment (although I can imagine how much better it would be without those conferences) and also the 'lack of Disney theming' was a little bit of a dissappointment to the kids (but only for about 2 and a half seconds !).

We are staying at AKL in about 10 days :jumping1: and one of our first things is to go to MGM and look around a bit and then boat to Epcot stopping at Swan / Dolphin to show my parents how great it is there

Besides the fact that you can walk to Epcot and Disney Studios, some other things we love about the Dolphin are:

The Grotto Pool
Dolphin Fountain
Tubbi's - so convenient!
The theming of the lobby - I love to just sit there and relax!
The quiet - this is by far the quietest resort we've stayed at, and that's a big plus when you're exhausted from a long day in the parks!
The shooting stars over the entry!
We haven't had a chance to try the Heavenly Beds yet, but I'm sure that'll make the list after our next visit.
We're also looking forward to trying BlueZoo on an "adult" night.

I'm greatful for these posts. DS has a chess tourney there
later this year and based on my first visit, I was not thinking
positively. Now, I'm feeling a bit better. Especially about watching Illuminations from the hotel. Do all rooms have
"Heavenly Beds?" Can you walk to Fantasia Golf easily?
This tournament has over 2000 chess playing children and
their parents/coaches. I imagine they'll use the Swan as well.
Thanks!

Fantasia Mini Golf is within walking distance. We didn't think it was far from the Swan. It took approx. 10 minutes to get there. It is lots of fun and has a nice family feel.
