Alien Blast Mickey Heads

Hi All

Just wanted to share a story with you all that I am sure you will find as funny as I did.

This morning I was talking to my DH about our day. He said that he was going to go to Home Depot to rent a roto tiller to work on our backyard. I thought oh great and asked him to pick up Alien Blast Mickey heads for our trip next week. He asked, "What for?" I looked at him like he was nuts and said to put on our room window so other DISsers will know we are there.

His response was delivered really dry:

"That is an irresponsible use of paint chips. What if someone wanted to paint their kids room lime green and couldn't because there were no chips. Just because of you crazy DIS people."

I was on the floor laughing.Because of course he will get some.

Home Depot carries a Disney line of paint (bright colors mainly for kids rooms)
The paint chip samples are the shape of a Mickey head. Alien Blast must be the name for the lime green colored paint. Thus lime green mickey head, convienent way of IDing a DISer.

When ever I'm at HomeDepot my kids take a few of these in their favorite colors. They get all excited about the mickey head paint... the power of Disney marketing.

uh-oh then i just ruined a whole bunch of lime green lovers bedroom dreams! yesterday i came back with 40 of them! i got a bunch of PMs last week to mail them out and i'm starting my collection for my sept trip!!!

Your story reminds me of little of mine. I asked my DH the next time he goes to Home Depot for work to pick me up some. And his response was "What for" and I explained it to him. He said "oh". Then I had to remind him that he is the one that found this discussion board and had me sign up. So in the long run, it's his fault I am on here so much.

does that mean that putting them back to back, laminating them, cutting them out, punching holes in them and wearing them to Disney isn't a responsible use???
i have 6 just like it. if anyone would like to "adopt" one, let me know... I have a cute plan on what to do with them. PM or email me.

OMG, could you imagine!! i bet many DISers would see them then!

ok, lol, so i must be a horrible person...i picked up 5-6 of them in different colors at home depot last friday, brought them home, scanned the sonic boom (slightly darker than alien blast) and princess purple (dd8's choice) to my computer, used paint to add our address in the middle w/ the waltograph font, and printed them out on greeting card stock, lmao! i'm planning to laminate them and use them for luggage tags!

We are all horrible people. Or maybe we are saving unsuspecting people from lime green rooms.

That's what we did last May for our trip. We tied them onto our backpacks.
