Disneyland’s Alice in Wonderland attraction is expected to reopen later this week, following a four-week closure to install handrails along elevated portions of the track.

The temporary safety fix includes turquoise railing (to match the metal fencing that runs around the queue and base of the attraction), dotted with a handful of flower cut-outs in the style of those that already decorate the ride’s exterior.

Charitably speaking, the modifications look horrible. The good news is they’re temporary. The Cast Member Reference Guide lists the attraction as closed until January 2011, so it likely will go back under the knife as soon as crowds become manageable—and the Imagineers can come up with a more attractive solution.

This is good news for our October trip as we love going on this as part of our Magic Morning routine. Does anyone have any before and after pics of this attraction?

This is great news! I hope it stays open for DD's birthday trip in Sept. It's her favorite! :cool1:

But it says that it might go under remodelation or whatever again!! so it might just be for the time being... I would so love to ride that atraction for our trip in September!! Let's get our fingers crossed :wizard:

Yippee!!! I've been to DL several times, but I've never been on this ride and so it was on my list as a "must do" this time! :dance3:

Alice is my favorite dark ride! Hope it doesn't go back under knife before late October. But I bet they will keep it open through the holidays now. It's really busy from Oct-Dec. Thanks for sharing the news!

I can't believe it! I was so sad and expecting that it would be closed when we are there, but now there may be a chance it will be open?? We are going Sunday, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed. It's my favorite dark ride in DL!

Thanks for posting this! I hope it stays open for awhile at least; I'd rather be able to go on it with the non-aesthetically-pleasing rails than not be able to go on it at all.

I'm glad they could make a quick temporary "fix." :thumbsup2

Just to Kill this thread. People are riding it today, I think people can now plan to include Alice in their future trips.
