Alice in Wonderland proposal

Hi

I hope I'm posting this in the right place!

I'm looking for some inspiration for a friend of mine who wants to propose to his girlfriend. She loves Alice in Wonderland so I'm wondering if anyone has any Alice inspired décor ideas? The proposal is going to be in quite a public place so nothing too over the top, but there will be a table and champagne. These are things that are going to be have to be sent to the venue in advance, so can't be anything like fresh flowers etc.

I've seen a few pictures on places like pinterest, but I'm really just looking for some input from other brides/brides to be!

My wedding is going to be an Alice in Wonderland theme so I have a kazillion ideas, however i think I need to know more about the venue to help you.

If you can't bring in fresh flowers I need to know what types of things you can bring in.

I have one idea that you wouldn't need to bring anything if it is at a restaurant. You could have them bring out a cake and have the waitstaff sing " a very mery un-birthday to you" song...then he says he has a present for her "un-birthday" and that present would be the ring, where he proceeds to get down on one knee and propose.

A simple idea would be to get tags like this :

you could put the " drink me " on the champagne, "eat me" on some sort of dessert (maybe a petit four that is square shape like in the movie, and put an "open me" tag on a ring box (although maybe i would put the ring box inside something else so she doesnt know what it is right away. thats a simple thing you could do.
