Alfredo's?

I had heard a while back that Alfredo's in Epcot was closing. Then rumors were that they were negotiating and trying to keep it open.
Could someone tell me the final word? It's so strange that a restaurant in WDW isn't even owned by Disney.

We were on a tour this past Thursday at Epcot and were told that Alfredo's will no longer operate that restaurant after 8/31/07.

the patina group will be taking over the space and introducing an italian restaurant later in the year

Supposedly the last day as Alfredo's is 8/31, and the next day it will reopen as an as-yet-unnamed Italian restaurant, run by Patina.

Thanks MrsToad, I just hung up from making some ADRs and asked there too. He said there will be another Italian restaurant coming to take its place but they don't know the name or opening date yet.

i just checked out patina's webpage and it showed a restaurant in Disneyland... if its anything like that it would be great... It looks so pretty!

We are going on a trip in September and were planning on trying out Alfredo's. Our dates are the week of 9/23-9/29, do you think there will be an italian restaurant open then?

The article I just read last week said that it WILL reopen the next day, operating by the Patina group, but it will offer a generic Italian menu until the final renovation plans are made.

I'll try and find that article.

Can't wait to try the new restaurant!! (Alfredo's was a big disappointment, overcrowded, service was AWFUL)
