I have friends going to Disneyland for the first time next week and she asked me where all they could get an alcoholic drink on occasion ( where there kids could go in also). I know they can at Trader Sam's and many places in downtown Disney ( and no place at Disneyland). Where can they at DCA?

I don't drink myself, however I've taken my mother a number of times to Hearthstone Lounge, the bar at the Grand Californian. It's very nice and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. They also have Wi-Fi :-).

Do they want to go to a lounge or does it matter? There is a terrace at DCA, by the trattoria there. One side has wine and the other side has beer. They also have a couple of beer carts and a margarita cart. Carthay Circle serves alcohol at lunch and dinner, as well as some of the other restaurants. Children are allowed in all of these places.

Don’t forget it’s also Food & Wine Festival at DCA. The festival marketplaces will be serving a wide offering of drinks and can be found throughout the park. Though not a lot of seating, they can also walk around the park with their drink.

Carthay Circle has a first come fist serve lounge...so does Napa Rose just inside the Grand Californian Hotel from DCA. Flows V8 has beer and wine...lots of places in DCA.

I don't believe that under 21 are allowed to sit at the bars that are at some of the Downtown Disney restaurants.

Trader Sam's is 21 after 8:00pm, but other than that I don't think there are any other age restricted venues for alcohol. As noted above, minors can just not sit at the actual bar in the establishments.
That’s only inside. You can be in the outside area at Trader Sam’s after 8 if your under 21.

That is pretty standard though the ABC doesn’t really care. At least that’s what I was told when they came into the Ale House I managed. If you have a “ pink” license it doesn’t matter.

Every place that serves alcohol is kid friendly. Carthy Circle lounge is the nicest place for indoor. For outside, the Cove Bar is currently being transformed into something else, but there are plenty of other places for outside drinks. Pacific Wharf has a Margarita stand, Karl Strauss beer stand and a wine place.

I always like to stop at the Wine Exchange after leaving SNA. It is just off of the 55 near the Dyer exit. One of the best places in the country to buy Bordeaux.
