Planning way ahead to our Oct 2016 cruise...how much alcohol and Water are you allowed to bring on board with you? I know you have to carry it on....so a small rolling luggage with water would do...but is there a limit as to how many bottles you can bring of liquor?

Thanks!

As much as you like as long as it's in your carry on and fits through the port x Ray scanner.

Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep.

You can bring as much as you can carry, but you will have to carry it with you until the rooms are ready (at 1:30). It also has to fit through the scanner at the port, so figure a small rolling suitcase.

DCL allows you to take carried on bottles of wine to the MDRs for a $20 per bottle corkage fee. All other carried on alcohol must be consumed in your cabin. So, if you were planning on taking a (plastic) bottle or flask to the pool deck and mixing your own, you will need to be very discreet. If a CM sees you doing it or you have a glass bottle, you will be asked to take it back to your cabin. I saw a couple mixing their own drinks (straight from the glass bottles) several times over the first 2 days of a cruise and get busted on both days. On the first day, a bar manager reminded them of DCL's policy, on second day a uniformed officer asked them to return it to their cabin and told them that there could be consequences if they continued violating the policy. My wife brought a few bottles of wine on that cruise and would take a glass of wine with her on the way to dinner. It was one less glass of wine we had to buy at dinner. Ask your cabin steward for glasses on day one. He or she will bring them and replace them as they are used.
