Alcohol in the Magic Kingdom

Well said debbie B !

and yes they serve alcohol in Disneyland Paris ,but it's France and it's law that you HAVE TO drink wine with food !!(JOKE) Thats why we go to the place every year!!

I don't mind MK being dry, but my husband sure does :lmao:

At home he may have one drink a week, but the pressure of all those crowds is only alleviated by alcohol:

:hyper:

:teeth:

Which is why we have, to the best of my memory, never eaten dinner in the MK, and are usually gone after a late lunch.

There is alcohol in the MK. It is in many of the guests who visit there.;)

I love the fact that there is no alcohol in MK. I hope it never will be allowed. I cant see why people cant last without having a drink.

As for Disneyland Paris. Been there and done that. Personally I was not impressed with Disneyland Paris. I never felt any magic and the cleanliness... well it stank. The toilets were vile. It wouldnt surprise me that they allowed alcohol in thier park and not only that they allow thier workers to strike outside the entrance of the gate. Forming a line up of workers shouting and holding up signs. My children were scared and they didnt care about any fellow guests. To them its a job and nothing more. Also alcohol is a big part in Europe. Your also allowed to smoke anywhere in the park!

In my opinion Disneyland Paris is a park of its own accord. France has thier own rules. If they dont like it they will simply strike.

Ok my post has gone off on a tangent. I am trying to let you understand how Disneyland Paris runs. You can compare WDW to DLRP.

Well, ya know, "Do in Rome" and all that. France is a little different. Kids drink wine there. They probably let chicks walk around topless, too.

(Just kidding, kind of.)

Just back from Disney Paris and seen no drunken children.:rotfl2:
By the prices a beer cost you neither see adults over the top. :rotfl:

Disney France MUST hire an amount of French workers even if they don't want to work there.
They have a contract with the French government about this. There a lot of non interested workers there who just rather like to sit at home than been send to work in Disney

I think the non-alcohol tradition at the MK goes back a long way and it's a tradition I can respect. Though I'd probably patronize some MK restaurants if they had better restaurants that DID serve alcohol, it's all too easy to find good restaurants like that elsewhere in WDW.

It goes all the way back to Disneyland . I think it is great to have one special place in WDW that there is no alcohol served. There are pleanty of places to get alcohol around WDW.

Exactly, we don't need alcohol at MK.....I like that it is like that especially with our little ones.

If my research was correct, the original Disneyland in Paris was dry, but Europeans complained. Their culture is totally different. It's very common for them to have wine with their meals pretty much every day. It was like taking away part of their culture. Not serving alcohol wasn't the "norm".

However, I like the dry policy MK has. We don't usually drink at the parks anyway. We safe that for DTD or a restaurant at one of the resorts. No biggie. :)

It doesn't bother me that you can't get a drink at MK but I hardly think the park would be destroyed if you could.

Tell me about it. I dont want to offend anyone. This is where the customer service lacks and in my opinion the CM were very rude! Very undisney. I certainly wont be back in a hurry. Not until the CM learn some manners and to actually enjoy what they are doing. Nobody likes working. I dont like working, but I do it to pay the bills. I am certainly not rude to my patients. Wouldnt ever dream of it.

I wouldn't mind if they served alcohol in the TS restaurants, (champagne at CRT, wine at Tony's, etc,) but I think it's good that there's no alcohol in the rest of the park. It has certainly never inconvienced me.

What sells?
DisneyLand park Paris, essentially the euro-replica of The Magic Kingdom, serves alcohol in at least eight of it's eateries and restaurants.

Walts-located in the middle of Main Street USA, wine list?-Yes.
Plaza Gardens Restaurant,wine list?-Yes.

Frontierland;
Lucky Nugget,wine list?-Yes.
Silver Spur Steakhouse,wine list?-Yes.

Discovery Island;DRY-Whew, no irresponsible staggering parents here.:rotfl:

Adventureland;
Agrabah Cafe,wine list?-Yes.
Blue Lagoon,wine list?-Yes.

Fantasyland;
Arbegre de Cendrillon?-Yes.

Point? Same company right? C'mon, So the powers that be decided not to honor Walts request in this case?
I love Disney with the family, always have and always will, let's not get too sure of ourselves and our high horse. No wonder when some Europeans come here to visit they are aggravated, false advertising...lol...

Yup, one of the reasons the French people stayed away early on was the lack of Wine in the park. Disney had to give in in this one exception.

And I thought that Captain Jack was the only person bothered by MK being a "dry port". If anyone has seen his little "act" in front of POTC, he makes a joke about heading over to Epcot later on since that "port isn't dry like this one!"
