We have a town car with a grocery stop on way to hotel. Can you buy alcohol in the grocery in Fl? If so, what is available...Beer, Wine, Liquor?

I would like to pick up a bottle of Rum, and beer to take to my room. Is there a grocery store that is in a shopping center with a liquor store if I won't be able to get it at the grocery?

Just tell your driver that you need a liquor store stop instead of a grocery stop. I have never had a problem doing this.

I need both a grocery and liquor stop. I'm high maintenance =-)

Anywho, I just realized, our flight lands at 8 30 am. Will probably be too early for the liquor store.

Maybe I will just pack a small bottle of rum in my checked bag. If I get the plastic ones hopefully they will be OK

Beer (and maybe wine?) is available at the local Publix which our car service stopped at on the way to HRH from the airport. Won't help with your liquor, though.

Some car services stop at Goodies. They have beer, but I don't know if they have wine or rum.

Just go to the Publix in the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center...which is right up the street from Universal and get your stuff there. There is an ABC store right next door to the Publix.

Last year we went to the Publix down the street from the main entrance to Universal and there was a Walgreens next door that literally had and entrance to a liquor store. Our daugher and my husband were really amazed at what you can get when you go to Walgreens.

We requested a grocery stop on the way to the Hard Rock Hotel. Our Tiffany Towncar driver took us to a grocery store which was next to a CVS and a liquor store. Don't know the name or address, though.

That's the one I mentioned earlier. ;)

Where I live every grocery store sells every kind of liquor. Is it different in Florida?:confused3

Same when I lived in Ohio. In Md, you can't even buy beer at the grocery. Each state has its own policies. When we moved here I couldn't understand why there was a liquor store in every shopping ctr. until I realized I couldn't buy beer at the store.

I finally found a reason not to move to Florida! I need my rum and tequila.

(Besides the hurricanes).

LOL If FL is anything like it is here in MA, it is easier to get your alcohol than your food. My small little coastal town doesn't even have a full sized grocery store, but finding a liquor store is not a problem.

I'm pretty sure there is a SuperWalmart out on Highway 27 (not far from the Animal Kingdom Lodge) that has a full liquor store attached (as part) of it. Also full grocery. I'll check our GPS when I get a chance, as that's our typical grocery stop. It's sort of "out of the way" of the trip from MCO to Disney...but it's an option.

Ha Ha!! That is so funny and true. One year, while we were tagging along on a business trip of DH, I accidentally forgot his underwear...he was in a panic. I walked to walgreens and low and behold....they sold underwear!!!

I actually love walgreens and usually have some saved up register rewards. When we are on vacation, I let my kiddos use them up to buy souvenirs!

Although we also have liquor stores here in MO, grocery stores can also sell liquor too. However, the liquor stores will have a better variety.

On a similar note, I had never seen a beer-only store until travelling into Manitoba, Canada. If you want beer, you don't go to either the grocery store or the liquor store, you go to the beer store.
