Alcohol at new magic kingdom restaurant...

I personally don't have a problem with the issue of people drinking at all, I completely understand what others are saying about how people enjoy a glass of wine with dinner etc.

The thing I don't like is that Walt never wanted alcohol to be served at MK. To me, that is the real issue here, are we moving away too much from what Walt built and wanted? I understand he died many years ago, but it would upset me if we keep changing things that he wanted/planned/imagined in the first place.

Walt was an innovator and visionary and, had he not died before his time, one thing we can be sure of is that Walt Disney World would be nothing like it is today. If we want to jump up and down about anything, it should be the annihilation of his dreams for an experimental prototype community of tomorrow, and yet most of us love Epcot.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

I suppose my formula might be: dream, diversify and never miss an angle.

Courage is the main quality of leadership, in my opinion, no matter where it is exercised. Usually it implies some risk — especially in new undertakings. Courage to initiate something and to keep it going, pioneering and adventurous spirit to blaze new ways, often, in our land of opportunity.

I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things.

I believe in being an innovator.

The most applicable of all:

Disneyland is something that will never be finished. It's something that I can keep developing. It will be a live, breathing thing that will need change.

I Love a glass of red wine (at home) - would never think of doing so at any park even with a meal. Its hard enough trying to remain hydrated at the time of year we go without adding more toxins into the mix.
Saying that everyone is different. Being a typical Libran - I can see both sides. Just not for me

Hi all we have been back 2 weeks now and towards the end of the trip we watched a woman in her 50s at a guess manage to get into MK with the aid of a younger woman. The older woman was absolutely smashed, I don't mean gigglely I mean trollied. She fell over twice walking from ferry and couldn't stand on her own. We watched as she approached the ticket machine and had to be helped insert her ticket, the lady at the machine called security over and he just checked what she had in her bottle which I guess was ok. They let her in, I was stunned, she staggered towards main street and stumbled and disappeared into the crowd. I really was stunned at security and appalled at the woman and her friend.

So it can happen, but I guess most sensible people know when to stop, after all 90 deg temps and alcohol don't really go well do they.

Steve, still missing it loads

Ha! I wa gonna' mention Epcot, now if there's anything that's a world away from Walt's vision it's Epcot.
