What I did was call them first and told them what I was planning to do. I got the employees name I spoke to, she was very nice.
Then I faxed my list down with my name and approximate pickup time on it. My list was very detailed and I organized it by category.
For example:
Dairy
2 gallons skim milk
1 small tub Land o lakes margarine
I wasn't always particular on a brand (in case they didn't carry it) but was specific on sizes (I didn't want a huge jar of peanut butter that we wouldn't even put a dent in).
They were excellent about picking out what I wanted. The order was probably about $10 or so more than it might cost me if I had done it at my regular grocery store, but I didn't expect them to comparison shop for me and I figured $10 was worth me not having to shop on my vacation.
We went to pick it up and they had it ready and stored in a refrigerated section somewhere. A man brought it out to our car and DH tried to tip him and he absolutely would not take it. We'll definitely use Albertsons next trip.
