Well I guess I am going to do "it" again. What is "it' you ask? A food TR of course. I unfortunately LOVE quality food!!! My doctor and my body probably wish I didn't. They want me to eat grasses, twigs and tofu. Sorry not doin it. This time we did the DxDDP because we fell under free DDP and decided to upgrade. So here are the intro's;
DSCN7869.jpg

DW - Picky eater and likes all beef Well Done (Dead). Started a diet 2 months before the trip and still kept the weight off during the trip and nearly ate everything she wanted. (No Mickey Ice Cream). She had a pedometer and kept an average of 11 miles per day of walking.

DS - 11 years old. Very picky eater. We would not let him order off the kids menu and required that he broaden his culinary horizons. Sometimes it worked.

Me - Forever 5 years old. Eat anything that does not kill me, immediately. I am a foodie that enjoys creativity, natural tastes and innovation.

We ate at the following locations (only one Counter Service);

Earl of Sandwich
Raglan Road
Sanaa
Flying Fish Cafe
Sci-Fi Diner
Hollywood Brown Derby
Tusker House
Citrico's
Tony's Town Square Restaurant
Artist's Point
Restaurant Marrakesh
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Les Chefs de France
Teppan Edo

The Wave
Boma

California Grill
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Narcoossee's

Color = Counter Service
Color = Table Service
Color = Signature Dining

I will include the pic's of some of the check's and menu's, I was not able to get pic's of all of them, because I found them helpful in other Dining TR's I have read. Hope you enjoy the Dining TR as much as I enjoyed the dining.:goodvibes

Lets go...ready to read...you dined at a lot of the places we will be eating at on our trip in 3 weeks.

bring it on. Any Alaskan tips on dealing with snow, frozen pipes etc gratefully currently received by all us wimps in the UK.

Day 1.
We left Anchorage on 11/27 for an overnight flight to Seattle and then Orlando. We lucked out with only a 40 minute layover. It was 4 degrees F when we left Anchorage. It was a 80 degree day in Orlando. Loved the heat (wish it would have stayed longer). We checked in at CBR and took a nap. We planned all of our meals 5 months ago. DW wanted the first meal to be at Earl of Sandwich because she has been craving the Holiday Special Sandwich (Turkey, Cranberry sauce and everything holiday baked on bread) since our last WDW vacation in 2008.

DSCN6612.jpg

The Holiday Special, The Full Montagu, The Pizza Sandwich, Yogurt Parfait and Fruit Cup. Always good.

The Check -

$30.26

We played around Downtown Disney but, we were fading fast due to not much sleep on the airplane and too excited to take a nap of any duration. Our ADR for Raglan Road was for 7:00pm. We decided to ask if we could sneak in at 5:30pm. THey were more than happy to help us out.:yay: We ate at Raglan Road in 2008 and loved the experience. This time did not disappoint. Better than last time.

DSCN6630.jpg

The meal started with

DSCN6625.jpg

Irish Bread with oil, reduced Guinness and Brown Sugar dip. Many flavors all working together. I love this stuff.

Appetizers

DSCN6627.jpg

DW- Heritage Tomato Salad. Heirloom tomato & rocket salad with shallots, parmesan crisps & balsamic reduction. She loved it.

DSCN6628.jpg

DS - Mighty Mussels half a pound of fresh Blue Hill bay mussels in a coconut infused curry broth. He didn't like it. I finished it off. I loved the flavor interaction with the curry, mussels and coconut.

DSCN6629.jpg

Me - Kinky Crab, Kilmore Quay crab spring rolls served with a sweet chili jam. They forgot to bring the Jam with the plate. I ate one of the rolls and remembered the Jam. They brought the Jam. Flavors w/o the Jam were boring and bland. Flavor with the Jam brought out many flavors. Yum.

Entree

DSCN6631.jpg

DW - Serious Steak 10 oz sirloin topped with Irish whiskey marmalade glaze, with fresh basil oil, mashed potatoes & topped with crispy fried onion strings. She really enjoyed glaze but was not a fan of the onions.

DSCN6632.jpg

DS - Salmon of Knowledge Baked Atlantic salmon fillet topped with smoked salmon, served with a maple glaze. He really liked the fish.

DSCN6633.jpg

Me - Lambo Lamb shank braised in rosemary jus with mash, leeks, shiitake mushrooms & baby carrots. I liked that they didn't over herb the dish and allowed some of the Lamb's natural flavor come through. The herb and Lamb flavors complimented each other nicely.

Dessert

DSCN6634.jpg

DW and Me - Dunbrody Kiss. Chef Dundon’s gift to America. Chocolate. Add chocolate. Then add some more. Saw this walk past the the table and had to have it! It was GREAT!!! Lot's of Chocolate!

DSCN6636.jpg

DS - Chocolate Chip Cookie. After the Mussel dislike we allowed him to order off the child Dessert Menu because he didn't see anything he like on the Adult Menu.

The only Alaskan tips I have, with dealing with snow and cold, is to always have Someone to snuggle up with :hug:and have extra supplies on hand.

Yay!!! I have read ALL of your Dining Reviews.... It is GREAT to have a Dis Celeb reading my Dining TR!!! My wife LOVES the Holiday Sandwich. She ordered it in 2008 when we were at WDW and in January 2010 when we went to Vegas. The E of S has a place in the Planet Hollywood Casino Mall.

On Day 2 we went to the Sanaa. DW has decided that Sanaa is her new favorite place to eat.

DSCN6754.jpg

Appetizers

DSCN6761.jpg

DW - Potato and Pea Samosas - Served with a choice of Tamarind or Mango Chutney. Not what she was used to for Samosas but she enjoyed them.

DSCN6763.jpg

DS - Lamb Kefta - Lamb Kefta served with Tamarind and Dried Papaya sauce.

DSCN6762.jpg

Me - Roasted Cauliflower - Roasted Cauliflower served with Tomato sauce. I love Cauliflower. I think it is a very under rated vegi. Any time I see it on a menu, with a twist, I order it. Sanaa did not disappoint. It was complimented very well by the Tomato Sauce.

Day 3. Unfortunately we do not have any pic's for our experience at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre. THe camera threw a tantrum and refused to cooperate:mad:.

Our evening meal was a the The Hollywood Brown Derby. We ate here 2 years ago and knew we had to do it again.

DSCN7028.jpg

DS - Seared Day Boat Sea Scallop with Black Bean-Corn Pudding and a Mango Papaya Salsa.

DSCN7024.jpg

Me - Famous Cobb Salad‖ with Finely-chopped Greens, Turkey Breast, Bacon, Egg, Tomatoes, Crumbled Blue Cheese, Avocado, Chives, and Cobb Dressing. The flavors were really good. I did not like the texture. The components were so combined it was almost like a leafy slurry. I ate it though.
