Alaskan Cruise

Has anyone been on the Disney Alaskan Cruise - Holland America Line? We're planning on going next summer and would appreciate any advice and/or suggestions anyone may have to offer!!

Disney cruise line doesn't go to Alaska. I wish it did.
Are you asking if any Disney people have sailed HAL to Alaska?

We cruised Alaska on HAL's Amsterdam during summer of 2002. They are great.
We did our first Disney cruise 18 months later on the Magic in December 2003.
I highly recommend HAL to Alaska, they have been doing Alaska cruises longer than any other line. They have kids clubs, although not to the extend Disney does. They also have a casino.

I think you are asking if anyone has used DVC points to sail with Holland America Line in Alaska - I did the 7 day Seward to Vancouver last June - what a GREAT trip....my only reccomendation is that one take books or DVDs with a small player. The ship basically shuts down at midnight. I was the youngest person on the cruise (I am in my early 40's). The scenery, excursions, and all the trip were so beautiful! The captain pushed hard to make it to the Hubbard Glacier since he had gotten word that it was calving that day - we saw over a dozen calved pieces and were amazed to find the crew standing right next to us taking pictures as well. Seems this glacier doesn't calf that often!! I recommend the 7 day that goes either north or south - the loop from Vancouve doesn't see as many ports. For excursions - we booked the "best of" at each stop (except Ketichican - that was the off road jeep trip) and saw so many whales, sea lions, eagles and other sights.

Wow, we had a different experience on the Amsterdam, but we went in June. Lots of kids on board. And the ship was rocking until 2 am.
Now the Magic, as much as I loved it, it was dead after 11 pm. Disney really is the early to bed early to rise cruise line.
