Alaskan Cruise

Next year for Christmas my siblings and I would like to send my parents on an Alaskan cruise. Where is a good site that is reputable to go to? Would I do better by going to a travel agent? Thanks foe the help.

No need for a travel agent just go to the major cruise lines and request brochures, then you all can look them over and decide which one and what places your parent would like. Then book online or call the cruise line directly. Christmas isn't a discount time so you won't have to worry about trying to find any bargins...

Took my hubby parents once and my parents once. Beautiful scenery, can't go wrong. We went both times in June was nice weather don't know about Dec though.
We cruised on the Princess Regal(this ship is going out of service for overhall for good reason). In Juneau we met a couple sailing on the Celebrity ship and they were raving about it.

i did holland america to alaska a few years ago but would'nt reccommend it (terrible service). did a celebrity cruise in september on one of the ships they do the alaska's on (shorty cruise they do in the pacific northwest a couple of times before they reposition the ships back east)-and was realy impressed with them. very nice rooms, great service-good food. and allot of little 'perks' the other lines don't do (check out their 'concierge class' rooms-not much more than a standard, but the perks and individual attention is awsome).

i booked directly thru the celebrity site and did the whole 9 yards. they did my airfare, shuttle to and from the dock and my cruising. i probably could have saved some going through a travel agent-but this way all the stuff was sent directly to me, and any updates/changes were instantly emailed to me (vs. having to be relayed by a t.a.).
