Alaskan cruise glacier dog sledding excursion

Would like to book a glacier dog sledding excursion in Juneau, but am reading that it gets cancelled a lot. Should I book it on our day in Skagway just in case and if it doesn't get cancelled in Juneau, I can always cancel?

Hi! I don't have any experience with this yet, but I'm also planning to book this excursion this summer. I have read suggestions for booking in Skagway so that if if you get cancelled you'd have a second chance in Juneau.

But I'm not sure how it would work cancelling a Juneau booked excursion the day before. Are you looking at independent companies or booking through Disney?

I haven't seen any tours I can book independently at this point in Skagway.

We're sailing on Norwegian and our first stop is in Juneau and then in Skagway.

We sailed in June 2021. Booked in Skagway through Temsco, with the same plan you have. I expressed concern about the weather when booking and I believe the rep said they would do what they could to rebook us for Juneau should it come to that. Luckily, it was a beautiful day for us in Skagway so we didn't have to worry about rebooking. The dog sledding is absolutely incredible and worth every single penny. Highlight of the trip for us.
