TUESDAY, March 6, 2001 DISNEYQUEST

We slept in! YIPPEE! We left about 10 that morning to go to Disneyquest. Gary had gone and gotten us breakfast so we ate in our rooms that morning. We had purchased our tickets from the new ticket service on the Boards so we just waltzed in the entryway when they first opened that morning. We went directly to the Cyberspace Mountain since that was what we remembered from last time. This was lots of fun but they only had 2 cans going so the line built up very quickly! So I only rode once and watched the others a lot. We did purchase two of the videos – they are really nice souvenirs. After that we went down to the bottom floor and tried out the new Pirates ride. This was the hit of the day. We went back there several times that day with different combinations of gunners. You can’t have more than 5 at a time so we used different combinations with the 7 of us. We also went on the Jungle cruise, the virtual reality games, Buzz Bumper cars and the artistic creations. We did all kinds of things.

All but one of us left to go shopping around 2 o’clock. It sure is wonderful buying stuff and having it sent to the room. I did get my American Express discount of 15% at the World of Disney, which was nice. That store is so big though – I’m glad we had our little radios to find each other. Miles of course, spent his money at the Lego store. We walked back to Disneyquest looking at the stores along the way. The girls had wanted to check out Planet Hollywood. We even got to go up and look inside. We had planned on eating there but the girls decided that they didn’t need to do that after all. We went back to Disneyquest and had cheesecake there. It is so good but so rich. We did Pirates a couple of more times and some other stuff then went back to the room.

The kids did go swimming that night but it was too cold for me. It got dark too quickly and the heat from the sun was no longer there. They had fun though. We decided to do another load of laundry but that was a totally different experience tonight. The place was crowded and one of the dryers decided to eat someone’s clothes. I really felt for them, as they had to dig out their socks and underwear from the rim around the door. The repair guy came over and checked on it and he would have to get a new drum, which wouldn’t happen tonight. They were nice to the people but it took quite a while for someone to come to compensate them for their ruined clothes. It is quite an experience when the place is crowded and everyone is vying for that next dryer to open up. Next time, I will have to be pretty desperate for clean clothes to do it when the place is crowded.

Those radios really come in handy dont they. We used some on our last trip and I dont think I would go without them again.

Disneyquest sounds like a lot of fun, but doing laundry on vacation isn't much fun, especially when the dryer eats your clothes. Luckily it wasn't your laundry.

Thanks for posting this I had a lot of fun reading it.
