Alaska on July 19th, 2011 "Where a good tan is hard to find"

For those of you that read the blog entries on the DIS, there's a new one up about Halloween at Disneyland. This one is particularly interesting, because it includes an audio interview with ME. :cool1:

I haven't listed to it yet...kinda afraid. :lmao:

What was dissappointing? I thought it looked great, they kept some of the "old" and added new. I read somewhere else that people were dissappointed, but I can't figure out what they were looking for :confused3

With all the innovative stuff that so many of the other ships have come out with I was hoping that DCL would do the same.

the ship is almost exactly the same as the Magic and Wonder...few new things like the slide and inside cabin virtual window...but pretty much the same. Just newer. Would like to have seen another dining room to rotate with, with all the people.....the Movie Theater to have seats that we could accually fit in...and so on....it is really the same....however they did add more cabins to get more of us on the ship....but not much more in the way of new things to do.

The cheaper cabins are smaller than the Magic and Wonder...they have gone to the size of the Cruise Industry as with other ship sizes....

Dont get me wrong I think the ship is very nice....I was just hoping for a WOW  instead of a AH:confused3....and with the Oasis and the Epic coming out and being so grand in everything...they just made me and many disappointed.

I feel like they threw us a few new bones, however took most of the space to just add more cabins for more money. I love the small ship feel...so If I am going to go on a big ship and loose that feel and have more people, not to mention that many more kids....than I ant to get all that they can give me to make up for that feeling.

Will I go on the new ships...sure....when they decide to take me somewhere than the Bahamas :rotfl:

Until than I will just be tickled pink to sail in my own back yard on the Wonder :thumbsup2 or hop on to the Oasis. After all my boys will be much older and want to try another ship again like the Oasis. they will be older at that time ...after Alaska, so that may be our next trip. But Darn , I sure love Castaway Cay....

But you have high standards. :lmao:

When spending $9,000 for just the cabins....you'r darn right :rotfl:
We do have 2 Cabins for Alaska for the 5 of us.....one with a Verandah and the kids inside....across the hall. This cruise for the 2 cabins is $9,450.00 and that does not include transfers or anything....just cruise. We still have Excursions and Canada for a week to add on...

so your right I am picky...could stay in 2 inside cabins but once we went Veranda there was no turning back:rotfl2:Cha -ching $$$$$$$$

Still The new ship is beautiful....cant argue that...but was still hoping for more fun things to do. Also wondering if they will have the same shows that they have on the Wonder and Magic carry over to the Dream....have seen those shows a gazillion times.....some new shows would be nice.

OH and Tom...look at it this way....with the wonder out our way, and the new ship so far away....Alasla will not be the last Disney cruise we cruise on toghether....arent you just the luckiest...lolhehehe

When are you thinking of sailing, JoAnn?

Well, because of school, I'm thinking a 5 day Double Dip in that summer maybe in late June? Of course with Alaska that summer, I'm not really sure but how much fun would that be?

lol....they look so cure...so do they have any candy left or did you eat it allpopcorn:: Branden did not go out Trick or treating but Michael did with his friend...gee guess what he was dressed as :lmao:I didn't even take a picture....they were out of here so fast.

Branden is home sick today...102 temp...not sure which bug he has...H1N1 or seasonal but he never gets sick and never gets the flu so we are thinking the H1N1...seems lots of his cohorts/friends have been getting sick and they are not sure what they have had either.

I am surprised it took this long. He does not get the seasonal flu shot, but the rest of us do. Michael has had the H1N1 due to his illnesses but Branden has not. We are on the fence about the vaccine for many reasons.

As for Brandens HS there has been only 4 confirmed cases of H1N1 out of over 2,000 students. Lots of seasonal flu confirmations. But as we all know they are no longer confirming anything....unless of course you die  If I get sick from Branden than I will chalk it up as the H1N1 since over 2 weeks ago I had my seasonal flu. Although it could also be another flu not in the vaccine I got. After all there are at least 100 flues that also roam around at flu time that are not in the seasonal vaccines....only the the ones that they think will have the worst strains.

Hi everyone,
just bumping us up. The weather her is hot...89 degrees and my son insisted on going to school with his flannel long sleeve shirt, Tshirt under that...long Van socks and gray Jeans....UgH! he did say if he got to how he would take off his flannel shirt...Yea right :lmao: He did say that the teachers all have the Air conditioner on and the class rooms are cold.

Anyway, Branden is feeling better and 103.2 temp is back down to 99.8....and he is feeling better.

Got a phone call from my other sons school....78 6th grade students and 4 teachers that went to 6th grade Camp came down sick..... that's alot of kids. No doubt they have the H1N1 with as fast as they got sick. The poor janitors at the school had to clean all the desks, door knobs and everything around the school last night. The middle school has 425 students.

Their are also 7th and 8th graders out, but said to be no more than usual this time of year.

Hope your all doing well this season and building up your immunity with Vitamins D3 and Vitamince C.....

Hope everyone feels better. Just the usual coughs and sneezes in our HS. I do notice more students out this week, though. My daughter is due with her first (and our first grandchild) in two weeks and she is a HS teacher. Her last day was Fri. and I am really glad that she is not among the germs. She did have a point that she could get a germ from anywhere, but the risk is higher walking the halls between high schoolers. I went to my dr. yesterday just for a regular check up and they still don't have the regular flu shot, never mind the H1N1 shot. Lets hope this won't be as bad as some fear.

Best wishes Maryann on your upcoming delivery. I know it is a long time in coming.........:cloud9::hug:

So glad your child is doing better. Our school was hit but to a limited degree. It seemed better this week. I noticed they cleaned our school more thoroughly after the outbreak as well.:woohoo:

Good morning. Halfway to the weekend.

I have an exciting weekend coming up: gonna tour the Walt Disney Studios and archives on Saturday.
