I have read that DCL serves a crab buffet on certain days on the Alaskan cruise. Can anyone tell me which day(s) and time? I don't want to miss this and we are trying to schedule PALO as well.

The seafood buffet at Beach Blanket Buffet was on the last sea day (Sunday) of the Alaskan itinerary. That said, and sorry to be the bearer of negativity, the crab was nowhere near as good as what we had in port and the buffet seemed overrun with crawfish. I wasn't impressed.

I only saw the crab legs at the lunch buffet @ Beach Blanketing on our last sea day (Sunday). Everyone in our group felt they weren't very meaty, but they were fresh.
If they had them on other days, we missed it.

The buffet looked impressive but boy did you have to work for it. Bring a hammer for the Dungeness claws. They score them, but don't provide any tools other than a crab cracker. I was a mess by the time I gave up!

One night they served crab legs as an appetizer in the MDR. They actually split them open for you so all you had to do was use your fork to pull the meat out. It was really good.

They taught us how to open them at the crab feast excursion we went on. You first pull the small part of the claw off. Then you use the cracker to break the large part of the claw and use the small part to scoop out the meat. Worked like a charm. :)

King Crab legs at Palo brunch were very good. We also enjoyed them as an appetizer on the Taste of Alaska night which was Saturday.

I forgot about the ones they served as appetizer at dinner - they were split open & meaty. Our table also ordered lobster tails one night (not sure if it was the same night as the app), and everyone raved about it.

Ooh, this makes me very happy and more excited about our Alaskan cruise next year! I love seafood, so I'm definitely going to order the lobster and crabs!

Mmmmm!

Is the seafood buffet JUST seafood? No one in our family cares for seafood much.

For the lobster, your waiter will pull the meat out of the lobster shell for you. There is a lot of meat.
The crab legs were very good. Two of my kids order the crab leg appetizer but discovered they didn't like it (their loss). I ate all three appetizers. Yum.

Yum!!! Even better!

Yep, their loss. Lol

Thank you for the additional information. :)

No - there is usually other stuff. You can also go to the sit down lunch at Triton's instead if you are not wanting seafood.
