Alaska - Any point in arriving much earlier than PAT for a shot at Concierge upgrade?

Even though we booked early and did on line check in early, we got a 12:30 PAT. We already have midship Cat 5B, with veranda, so I am very happy regardless, but I dreamt we were upgraded at the port to Concierge!! :yay:

Ha ha. Anyway, now I am consumed with this thought, even though I keep reading that this kind of upgrade is VERY unlikely in the Alaska cruises. . . . I know no one here is a fortune teller, but there is so much experience on this board, I wonder what your thoughts are.

Is there really any point in getting there much earlier than PAT? If so, how early should we shoot for?

Or should we just take that time to have a leisurely breakfast and get there "on time" and be happy with our already great room?

Thank youuuuu!!!

Go to the Disney web site and look at your cruise and see if concierges is even available for your cruise. If it's already booked it's highly unlikely that the reservation will be cancelled.

Hi - Thanks. The website does not show these available. That is the best measure, huh? Makes sense.

Looks like concierge is booked for the rest of the Alaskan cruises this year. Highly doubt you will see one open up. If so you would need to be one of the first in line and then go to the supervisors desk after you check-in to inquire about upgrading.

On my August Aladka cruise we were first to check in at concierge and the ship was full there was a sign next to us, no upgrades .

Last time I checked the Alaskan cruises to see if any was sold out (probably end of July or early August). All concierge rooms were sold out in the remaining August and September cruises. After that all Alaskan cruises are not available from the website anymore. Either they are all sold out or too close to sailing dates.

We arrived at 10:00am and were able to upgrade, but not to Concierge. We were originally in a porthole room and were able to bump up to a verandah. We were thrilled! Our cruise had been sold out as well, but there was a last minute cancellation. The other nice thing about arriving early is that there were NO lines! Good luck to you.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you to upgrade? We have a porthole booked too and would love to upgrade. Thanks!!

It was $615 to go from a 9C to 5B. That verandah made our trip. It was so worth the extra money!
