What are the odds of getting a cash refund from Alaska Air because Canada will not let them fly in when they closed their borders with the US ? We were doing the May 18 cruise and I do not want a credit. I want to start fresh once things have calmed down. The airline has still not canceled its flights on their booking pages.

I'd say just get on the phone and talk to Alaska Air lines they are the only ones that can address your situation. Technically the closure was set to last 30 days so it would be 61 days out, nobody really knows how long the boarder or other travel will be impacted. But calling will get you the answer you need vs me speculating.

Based on the website, only refundable fares can cancel and get their money back. Saver and other nonrefundable fares can, currently, only get a credit certificate or the value stored in their account. But no fees.
