Alaska 2022 Speculation-how will the ports be?

I haven’t seen this discussed yet, but do you think the Alaska ports will survive being shutdown for two years? We have our first Alaska cruise booked for May 2022 and now we are concerned that the ports will be ghost towns. How are the businesses surviving a two year shutdown? Are they getting business from locals or other non-cruise vacationers? For those who know all about Alaska, what are your thoughts on this?

A lot of the staff in the cruise ports are non locals who come up for the summer. So they ought to be able to staff as usual.

The excursion companies are pretty dark right now, but most of their staff is in the lower 48 save during cruise season.

Thanks for the information. It sounds like it will be like the cruises.
