Does anyone have any recent experience, good or bad, with either Alamo or L&M for rental cars? I have read that the wait at the Alamo counter can be very long, but I have also heard that some people have not been happy with the cars they got from L&M. Any input or experience you have would be helpful.
We have not used L&M, but we have noticed their line is usually much shorter than Alamo's. We get Alamo via Priceline a lot, and the long line is the biggest drawback. We usually arive around midnight when there is only one counter person, so that makes it worse. But we'e gotten good cars from Alamo and several free upgrades when they have been out of compacts. The only other thing to watch out for with them is that they will try to trick you into taking the insurance.
