I have booked a full size 4 door for our two week holiday. This is with Alamo. I am slightly concerned that this may not be big enough 2+2 with 4 cases and hand luggage.

Normally we hire a 7 seater mini van but this year our resort offers free shuttles so veichle not so important. Cosmos want £140 to upgrade, 2 questions?

1. Do you think the 4 door will get family plus lugguage. We are flying into Sandford and heading to Floridays on I drive.

2. Would it be cheaper to upgrade when we arrive.

Many thnks.

The full size cars hold 5 people and depending on the trunk, should hold your luggage. Impalas have the largest trunk in the full size class. Personally, I would wait till I got to Sanford and see if the luggage would fit and if not, upgrade then.

You should fit fine. Never been to the Sanford airport, but will this Fall. I can share when we mentioned a concern to upgrade to fit luggage, the Alamo MCO Orlando airport, offered $78 American dollars for a mini van upgrade. We just squashed in. but three cases were 22" or 24", then camera, totes, dgs roll along.

I hear ya about using the buses, but if the luggage is not huge, it should fit in the trunk, 3 and put a 4th between the backseat riders. It will be tight but you can just use the car to get back and forth to airline in a tight fit. Otherwise it will be nice to have a car for late nights leaving the park. IF it is a night to close them out, the buses are really overwhelmed. Waiting can be hour to hour and half to get back to the room.

Usually a full-size is an Impala or similar - having owned an Impala and driving it to Talladaga to camp, and then onto WDW for a week, we packed two large suitcases, two small suitcases, a duffel, a tent, a dining tent, two camp chairs and a propane burner with 4 small tanks, plus a few small odds and ends (I think I mashed a comforter in there as well!) all in the trunk before adding the golf clubs, air mattress, groceries and cooler into the backseat. So IMHO, you will be fine with the full-size!! :thumbsup2

You are kidding, right?: If not I want to watch you pack. LOL

Why would I lie? I loved our Impala, and yes, all that stuff made it to our campsite, and then on to WDW with the two of us. Trust me, after years of travelling and doing a lot of driving, we can pack like pros! The Impala trunks are huge and wonderful, and everyone was always amazed at what we could fit in it!:thumbsup2

I too have taken the "tetris" course in packing as well :thumbsup2 - granted , it is in my saddle bags on my bike, but what I can fit in there amazes people too.

No saying you were lying, perhaps teasing. But, I am definitely impressed. I tell our customers that the Impala can hold 5 bodies in the trunk. LOL. You certainly have surpassed that. I am also amazed with your packing abilities!!

lol, I knew you were teasing, just had to say it can be done! Perfect to say you can fit 5 bodies in the trunk! Hope you realize I did say some of the things were also in the back seat, I'm not that impressive!! ;)

Oh, I beg to differ, I still find all that very impressive. You should see the look on some of the people's faces when I say that about the trunk, especially when I am looking at their children when I say it. LOL
