Hi Folks:

I did some searching but could not find anything definitive.

1. Can you go directly to the garage with Thrifty (Blue Chip Express) like Alamo?

2. Can you select the vehicle you want with Thrifty like you can with Alamo?

3. Is Alamo worth paying $158 more than Thrifty (23 days)?

Leaving next Tuesday 18th and have Alamo SUV for $754 and Thrifty SUV for $596.00

Thanks for your replies!

We're here now renting for a month. Thrifty was 500.00 less. Booked lock low and go. Picked up the car. No price changes. Car only had 3,000 miles. We have a Sunpass. So far, so good!

1) you will go to the counter but the dedicated Blue Chip Members line (usually short)
2) a car will be assigned to you (last time we used Thrifty, they actually gave me a choice of 2 at the counter)
3) I will pay a little more for the convenience of Alamo, maybe 5-10% ($158 would steer me toward Thrifty)

FYI: we typically reserve a Full Size when renting at MCO and frequently see SUV's and CUV's in the Full-size aisle.
While this isn't a guaranteed find, if you could live with a FS car and possibly get an SUV from the FS aisle, it may be worth pricing out a FS car as they are typically a lot less expensive than the SUV's. JMHO

Thank you for the reply and that advice. I just booked an FS for $148 less! Thanks.

As I noted above, this is not a guarantee that you will find an SUV on the FS aisle but they do show up pretty frequently (as gets noted often on the Transportation board).

If you absolutely need the SUV, then you should stay with that booking.

If you can live with a Full Size car (if nothing larger is on the aisle)
...but could find a SUV, CUV, mini-van on the FS aisle
then I would go with the FS rental
